Nigerian Singer Brymo In Secret Romance With Sandra Ankobiah of Fashion 101

Mario Balotelli to be a dad soon

Sensational and in-form Nigerian singer Brymo of “Ara” fame on Sunday morning, crowned his spectacular performance at the Ghana Meets Naija music concert, with a passionate dedication to his most loved “sweetheart” in Ghana Sandra Ankobiah.

Halfway into his second song of the night “Good Morning”, which is his second single off his upcoming album, the singer, famed across the continent for his sultry and incredible vocal ability, paused and made a special announcement to the audience.

“I want to dedicate this song to a very special person in here Sandra,” Brymo said. The cheers that followed his announcement were as loud as the doubts some persons had in their minds about what kind of relationship Sandra has with the Nigerian superstar. There are talks of a “relationship” between the two although both acts wouldn’t confirm or deny it. While Brymo has given the strongest hint of what could possibly be true and a “relationship” that is heating up, close aides to the Fashion 101 lady have simply said “she likes him very much”.

“Sandra and Brymo have a thing going on but I can’t confirm or deny,” a family friend has said. “But what is important,” according to the family friend, is the fact that “they like each other very well”.Brymo is a label member of Nigeria’s biggest urban record label Chocolate City, and is currently a top-selling act with an amazing fan base just few years after entering into mainstream music. Sandra, a former beauty queen, is hostess and executive producer of popular Ghanaian television show Fashion 101.

The Italian striker’s ex-girlfriend Raffaella Fico had told him ahead of the semi-final match against Germany, that she was pregnant with his child. The 24-year-old model has confirmed that the baby she is having belongs to the footballer dubbed Super Mario. Speaking to the Italian website Sport Mediaset, she said: ‘I called the day before the game against Germany and I said, I’m expecting a baby, it’s your baby. ‘After a pause he said ‘You gave me the best news of the world.’ Raffaella was surprised when she discovered that she was pregnant in the middle of May, because she ended her relationship with Mario on 29 April.

She kept the good news to herself after taking a test but eventually revealed the pregnancy to some of her family. She told the website: ‘I went to a pharmacy outside Milan to buy

a pregnancy test and I found I was pregnant. But I only told my mother and my brother.’

Rafaella now claims that a delighted Mario, 21, is eager to commit to her and rebuild their failed relationship. She said that he never stopped loving her and he always wanted to have a son with her and even get married. She said: ‘Last Christmas, he told me, ‘let’s get married and make a son’, and I accepted.’ Unfortunately the couple broke up after his numerous alleged affairs, but Fico, who was spotted showing off her bump last week in Rome, is certain things will be different this time. She insists that she does not need money and never intended to trap a rich footballer, however, her offspring will bring plenty of pride to Balotelli, who stormed off the pitch after last night’s defeat.

Raffaella, who has appeared on Italy’s Big Brother and previously dated Cristiano Ronaldo, added that although the sex of the baby is unknown, Mario will choose the name. She started dating the Man City player at the start of last year but he was accused of meeting former escort Jennifer Thompson - who had advertised herself as a £1,200-a-night call girl under the name ‘Juicy Jeni’ and previously enjoyed a fling with Wayne Rooney - five times and had sex with her twice behind Miss Fico’s back.

AfroGossipHighest Paid Ghanaian Actress Revealed

Highly controversial but talented Ghanian actress, Yvonne Nelson has emerged the highest paid actress in the whole of Ghana beating Jackie Appiah and Nadia Buari hands down.

These three, according to research, were the most sought after divas in Ghollywood until recently when Yvonne, who has been involved in series of scandals, emerged to take over fully.

Yvonne, a model, designer, businesswoman and actress who has featured in thousands of international movies with the latest being Halima Abubakar’s new movie ‘Mistress’ doesn’t negotiate with her country’s currency but universal currency, USD.

Though her price tag has been generating controversies within and outside Ghana as they said it has made some producers who had planned to feature her change their minds due to the ‘hike’ in her professional fee, this idea, no doubt will carve a niche and also add great respect to her career as she will only be featuring in selected few movies.

Aside the $10,000, we learnt there are other conditions attached and once they are not met, you can as well try the next door. Well, Yvonne www.nigeriafilms.com gathered, changed her status, as far as professional charges are concerned, ever since she won a mouth-watering contract from Ghana telecommunication giant, Vodafone.

I Am Not Back With Essien - Nadia Buari

Award winning actress, Nadia Buari, has denied media reports that she and Chelsea midfielder, Michael Essien, are back together as a couple.

News of the two former love birds making up through a purported amorous kiss went viral on the internet last week at the birthday party of newscaster and host of Diva’s Show, Nana Aba Anamoah held at Villaggio Primavera.

Speaking on the Brunch in the Citi hosted by Jessica Opare-Saforo, Nadia explained the speculations emanated from “innocent pictures” which were taken during the party.

“There was no kissing; it was just blown out of proportion,” she said.

Nadia further explained that “we were trying to take pictures and the media paparazzi were also taking pictures. We were to take just two shots but they were still taking a lot [of] pictures and I was really shy so I tried to leave and Essien was just trying to cover my face that’s all.”

The two called off their relationship about two years ago.

Nadia also hinted of a possible venture into the Ghana music industry specifically, Hiplife music.

LONDON 2012PHOTO PANORAMA OF AFRICAN CHAMPIONS

With just weeks to go before the curtain rises on the Olympics, we wrap up our list of the leading African Champions who may climb the po-dium. At the game itself, there are 24 men’s events and 23 women’s events - women do not compete in a 50km walk - and the target number of athletes for the Games is 2,000. Nations are able to enter up to three athletes per event provided they have achieved the A standard and one athlete per event if they have achieved the B standard.

The Nigerian Team for London 2012 in-cludes some of the best sprinters in the country. Ogho-Oghene Eqwero and Peter Emelieze have proven to be the country’s top sprinters in the men’s 100m. Amaechi Morton goes in the 400m hurdles while Tosin Oke aims to make his mark in the Triple Jump. Blessing Okagbare made the grade in the 100m and 200m sprint double as well as the long jump where she won a bronze medal in 2008.

Another hopeful is Oludamola Osayomi, who can also double up in the sprints. She could be a threat to the best if she can recapture the form she showed in the All-African Games in Maputo. Doreen Amata in the high jump is the final athlete so far to make the ‘A’ standard.

Kenya’s reigning Olympic 800m cham-pion, Pamela Jelimo, put three years of pain behind her to return to elite class with a commanding performance to win the World 800m gold medal with a Kenyan record of 1.58.83, the fastest time in the world so far this year. The 22-year-old Beijing 2008 champion is the one to watch.

“For me, I am happy,” said Jelimo after the race.

“These last three years, with my injury, were a disaster for me. Injuries have a great impact on top athletes. But I did not give up and my coach motivated me a lot. It feels great to be a world champion; it is great to be at the top again.”

South African 800m star Caster Se-menya, and a gold and silver medallist over 800m at the last two world cham-pionships. Semenya said she was pleased with her early build-up to the London Games in July.

Having come off a superb season in 2009, in which he set a 1:42.86 career best in Rieti and won the world title in Berlin, Mu-laudzi hopes to bounce back at the London Games in July.

The silver medallist at the Athens Games in 2004, the veteran middle-distance star failed to reach the final in Beijing four years ago, but expects to be at his best form in the English capital. “The most important thing this season is to try and get on the podium in London.”

“…I am truly honoured to be part of an event which represents my culture and my people again. GUBA highlights the achievements of the growing number of successful Ghana-ians in the UK and it is indeed a pleasure to be recognised by the committee.” said the 29- year-old track star.

The 100m & 200m sprinter Jeanette, born to Ghanaian parents, will be one of Europe’s biggest female sprint hope at the Olympics this summer. She started her athletics career at the age of 15, landing her first national ti-tle at the 1997 English Schools’ Champion-ships.

She went on to study politics and econom-ics at Loughborough University, amassing several national and international medals during this period. In 2007 she became the British 100m champion, a title she defended in 2008. Jeanette is currently the fastest woman in British sprint athletics.

Vivian Jepkemoi Cheruiyot specialises in long distance running. She represented Kenya at the 2000 Summer Olympics and the 2008 Summer Olympics. Cherui-yot won a silver medal in the 5000 metres at the 2007 World Championships in Ath-letics and became the world champion in the event at the 2009 edition.

After taking a silver at the 2010 IAAF World Indoor Championships, she won a number of outdoor titles that year, be-coming African champion, Common-wealth Games champion and IAAF Conti-nental Cup champion, as well as winning the 2010 IAAF Diamond League title. She holds the Kenyan record and Common-wealth record for the 5000 m with her best time of 14:20.89, which was set at the DN Galan in 2011. Vivian is the star to watch.

Oscar Leonard Carl Pistorius is a South African sprint runner. Known as the “Blade Runner” and “the fastest man on no legs,” Pistorius is a double amputee who had to go to court to be eligible to run against able-bodied. Oscar reached the 400 metres semi-finals at last summer’s World Champi-onships and won silver as part of the relay team. Oscar is the world record holder in the 100, 200 and 400 metres (sport class T44) events and runs with the aid of Chee-tah Flex-Foot carbon fibre transtibial artificial limbs.

At just the tender age of 11 Wizkid recorded his first song with Nigerian artist OJB Jezreel and recorded a seven track album which was released within his church under the name “LIL PRINZ”; by doing this he became really encouraged by family and friends amongst other artists.

Being dedicated to becoming a successful recording artist lil prinz became Wizkid and he got back into the studio and started working with Big Nigerian artists like Naeto C, Ikechukwu, and OJB Jeezreel n others.

Wizkid’s collaboration with M.I on “fast money, fast cars” in the “Talk About It album” drew an attention to his distinct voice and singing style which led him to being signed to Banky W’s label Empire Mates Entertainment.

Over the next few years his talent as singer and songwriter became evident and it resulted in Wizkid being featured in some of the biggest artistes in Nigeria’s music industry.

Indeed, Wizkid has the right to be called the STARBOY. Afropulp magazine salutes The Star Boy!

Last Flight to Abuja, London PremiereAfter a hugely successful world premiere at The Troxy Cinema in East London in front of over 1300 guests, Last Flight to Abuja, the new Nollywood, disaster themed suspense thriller by award winning UK based Nigerian director Obi Emelonye, is now set to be released across 14 London cinema screens from Friday 29th June. Two of Nigeria’s leading companies Diamond Bank PLC and Zinox Technologies came together to support the premiere and in a touching tribute, the audience observed a one-minute

silence in honour of the Dana Airlines crash victims prior to the screening of the film and the producers replaced the closing credits with a list of the departed souls. The premiere audience included stars from the movie - Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Jim Iyke and Ali Nuhu, Ambassador O.K. Lawal, the Deputy High Commissioner to the Court of St. James and representative of the Nigerian Government amongst a host of others. The event was anchored by ace Nigerian comedian Okey Bakassi.
