• 186 AFPA training campuses are available in France for job training and skills certification

• 57% of trainees will find a job in less than 6 months after the training program

The French National Qualification Framework

• 1969: A French NQF with a five-level structure is introduced

• 2002 : A national committee on vocational qualifications (CNCP) supported by a register of vocational qualifications and the system for validation of non-formal and informal learning (VAE) is set up

• 12 Afpa regions carry the ISO 9001 label thus confirming that the quality management system set up by Afpa guarantees the conformity of our services to our clients

• All the training centres organising validation sessions leading to qualification are audited by external, independant auditors

Recognition of prior learning

• A French Google search on the term « VAE » produces 120 million results

• Implemented by law in France in 2002• More than 7 000 candidates in the VET system in

2008 (79 000 for people in training)• Success rate of 72% (against 79% for people in

training)• Integration into the labour market is 47%
