The ministry of Ambassadors for Christ (AFC) is to spread the good news of the gospel as Christ’s ambassadors and to establish indigenous churches throughout Honduras. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We

implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. (2 Cor. 5:20). Ambassadors for Christ reaches out to the needy in Honduras through several ways:

• Medical and Dental Clinic • Nutrition Ministry • Water filters and learning the importance of pure water. • Teaching and preaching to the poor at the clinic and in remote

villages. • Providing educational help through cooking, training in

cosmetology, Bible studies, money management counseling, psychological counseling and leadership training for young men ages 14 and older.

• This ministry is enhanced by short-term mission groups that work through AFC to provide VBS, food distribution, building homes, medical/dental care, and other needs.

Many brigades have traveled to AFC this year to serve those in need through the AFC clinic. AFC is deeply grateful to each individual and group that has given of their time and talents to travel to Honduras and serve.

There are many of us that may never have a chance to travel to Honduras, but thanks to other generous people, the lives of children are still changed and the love of Christ is shared. Many give with faith and love, wanting to make a difference. Through the work of AFC ministers that serve various communities surrounding Tegucigalpa, children with critical needs are served through the clinic. Not only do these children with special circumstances receive medical/dental treatment and supplemental food; but, most importantly, the family receives spiritual counseling as well as psychological counseling. We are grateful to everyone that sponsors a child in the Nu-trition Ministry. This is truly a life changing gift. If you do not sponsor a child, maybe you could help a child in Honduras...a child like Erlin Martinez. Imagine that your new baby quickly turns blue after being born and later receives the frightening news that he has a heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot, a congenital de-fect which typically involves four anatomical abnormalities of the heart. This would be devastating news for any mother, but in the U.S., this defect can be corrected soon after birth. Erlin was born at home with the help of a midwife and as he failed to thrive, it was eventually discovered that Erlin has the serious heart condition, Tetralogy of Fal-lot. Erlin must be careful not to exert himself at all, not even emotionally. He has clubbing of his fingers and toes due to the lack of oxygenated blood to his extremities. Erlin’s parents experience great concern and great pain because they do not have access or the means to treat Erlin’s condi-tion. Through the work of the Nutrition Ministry, Erlin is able to see a doctor and receive supple-mental food and dental care and have his general health monitored.

While it seems like this would never be enough, it makes a difference to the family of Er-lin. The loving and compas-sionate staff at AFC encour-age and help this family to keep the faith and put their hope in God as they offer spiritual support, psychologi-cal care, along with medical and nutritional supplementa-tion. It is amazing how much $35 each month can impact the lives of Erlin and his fam-ily, as well as other families in the Nutrition Ministry. AFC is hoping to open its door to other needy children. If you choose to sponsor a child in the Nutrition Ministry, one hundred percent of your donation will go toward the child and his/her care. You will receive photos and information about the child and the family situation. We hope you will prayerfully con-sider sponsoring a child or giving a one-time donation to the work of AFC. These gifts show the love of Christ to these people in a very humble and basic way. “And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cool water only in the name of a

disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward” Matt. 10:12 As the Christmas season is fast approaching, AFC would like to deliver backpacks con-taining gifts to needy children in the Nutrition Ministry and to other children in the com-munities served by AFC. Rather than you purchasing the items and placing them in a

box, you can send $20 to AFC and we will purchase the items and put them in a backpack. The backpack and gifts will be delivered during the holiday season. These gifts are often the only presents that the children will re-ceive and there will be many children that line up for a Christmas backpack.

Serving with others on a mission is life changing for those that travel to Honduras, and our giving is life changing to the needy whose lives are touched through this generous act. With the help of God and your support, the ministry of AFC can spread the gospel and continue to serve the needy in Honduras. We ask that you help in the following ways… • Please pray for the ministry of AFC. • Please send your email address if you have one so that we can send newsletters and updates

by email. Our goal is to communicate more effectively and reduce costs. You may send an email to [email protected] to ensure that we have your email contact information.

• Please consider sponsoring a child in the Nutrition Ministry. Sponsoring a child in the ministry requires $35/month. This $35 provides the child with food, medical care, medicine, and dental care. You will receive a photo, social report and periodic updates on your child.

• Donate $20 to purchase a Christmas backpack with gifts for a child in Honduras. • Like us on Facebook and please visit www.ambassadorsforchristhonduras.com to learn
