UXDesign AMS NASA | Aerospace Mechanisms Symposia Registration | General Info ScreensAMS Aerospace Mechanisms Symposia is an annual event held at the Kennedy Space Center. Every year hundreds of visitors worldwide reserve tickets to this event which includes a tour of the space center, dinner and entertainment. This 6 month project involved collaboration of Design Direction and Production Development of an interactive forms engine built with Flash Builder and PHP on a LINUX platform.

The project began with the forms engine re-design, and during the development of the dynamic forms engine, the client pleased with the design decided to have the rest of the registration website container systems updated to match the new look and feel of the Dynamic Forms Engine.

AMS NASA | Aerospace Mechanisms Symposia Registration | Event Info ScreensThe goal of the look and feel was to create a more engaging experience for customers, give them a sense of the event as they enter information to reserve their place for the year’s symposium while only using a single medium of communication online.

Taking advantage of FLASH capability, features included dynamic fades for semi-transparent �elds and selection boxes to reduce screen count to increase e�ciency, highlighting of live text �elds to guide you along, and t.v. style pop up alerts for special messages.

AMS NASA | Aerospace Mechanisms Symposia Registration | Foreign Visitors Info ScreensForeign visitorship is greately encouraged and asking for foreign visitor information is never easy especially in online communication where obvious means of veri�cation cannot be used, therefore creating a screen experience that is pleasing and smooth without being pushy creates a pleasant experience for interested visitors.

An example design feature is the use of short, concise static messaging kept within the overall color scheme which informs the visitor what the information on this screen satis�es according to international visitorship law in the U.S. This static message alone reduced this portion of the process by 1 1/2 screens.

AMS NASA | Aerospace Mechanisms Symposia Registration | Con�rmation ScreensFlash container-based objects were created with individual dynamic controls to easily change the grid of the screen so that di�erent types of information can be displayed along with live interactivity at any given time.

A well thought out UX design strategy is boundless when it comes to technology implementation. This same design can be used in HTML 5 and PHP on a LINUX platform nowadays, and yes that includes all dynamic functionality as well.
