Only PELV circuits that comply with IEC/EN 60204-1must be used to supply the devices with electricity. Thegeneral requirements for PELV circuits in accordancewith IEC/EN 60204-1 must be taken into account. Current sources are allowed if they guarantee protectiveelectrical separation of the supply voltage as per IEC/EN60204-1.
The ground connection is used to discharge electromagnetic interference, for potential equalization and thus forensuring functionality. Low-ohm connections (short leadswith a large cross-section) must be made to groundpotential.
Make sure that the rated voltage of the equipment doesnot exceed 30V DC, and that the rated voltage is notexceeded by more than 40 % by the effect of transients.
If the power supply and the serial signal output areconnected in one cable, remove the screwed cable glandthat is not being used and seal the opening in thehousing with the vent plug provided.
A potential equalization terminal is available on thehousing for connecting a cable with a maximumcross‐section of 4 mm.
Important
The terminals are designed for a wire cross-section of2.5mm2, with a solid (rigid) or finely stranded (flexible)conductor. When using finely stranded conductors withwire end ferrules, the cross-section is limited to 1.5mm2.
