It's February, the Love Month, and while the rest of the country are enduring freezing temperatures, the weather here in Central Florida is cool but sunny. Perfect weather, therefore, to enjoy the great outdoors and this month of MBCA offers events to do just that. First off, reset your calendars, as we are moving to our own Mercedes Benz Night at the ACE Café starting February 4th. Joining us in support of this get together are the fine people at Mercedes Benz of South Orlando. For those interested in the latest in Mercedes Benz offerings, MBSO will have a variety of vehicles and representatives available. Further details are located within this newsletter. Secondly, don't forget our Mercedes, Manatees and Pancakes event to be held at the DeLeon Springs State Park on February 10th. The event will include a pancake breakfast along with a boat tour to visit the manatees assembling in the warm springs of Central Florida. And finally, check out all the upcoming events listed within this newsletter, particularly our major event in March at the Lakeside Inn in Mount Dora. Slots are filling up fast, so make sure that you get your registration in as soon as possible. I look forward to seeing you at these events.

Though it was cold, it didn’t stop excited Mercedes owners from showing up. In all, about 15 Mercedes came out, mostly models more recent than 2000. Turnout was promising, so much so it was tough to even get a table for dinner! Many thanks to the Porsche Club for having so graciously hosted us for 2018! We’re looking forward to many joint-club events in our future.

March 24Mercedes in Mount Dora@ the Lakeside Inn - Mercedes Benz aficionados from around the state are invited to participate in a car show at The Lakeside Inn in the heart of historic Mount Dora and nestled between landscaped grounds that sweep down to the white shoreline of Lake Dora. Built in 1883, Lakeside Inn is the oldest continuing operating hotel in Florida and it has only gained in charm and appeal over the years. The town of Mount Dora is a haven for artists, antique lovers, and water sports. Arriving in your new or vintage Mercedes Benz will add to the established class of the town for that day! February 10Mercedes, Manatees and Pancakes@ Deleon Springs State ParkEnjoy The Spanish Sugar Mill and Griddle House, ECO Boat tour and view the manatees. Arrive at the restaurant, 601 Ponce Deleon Boulevard, Deleon Springs 32130. Arrive at 9:30 at the restaurant for an extraordinary pancake breakfast and an educational and breathtaking view of the park replete with manatees grouping in the warm springs to escape the cool weather.

Ponce Deleon rediscovered his youth here, in a place inhabited by indigenous people for more than 5,000 years. Breakfast and tour are $35.00 per person, (an entry fee to the park is $6.00 and will be paid separately upon arrival at the gate. Routine Checks on your BenzWith the temperatures rising and falling, air-pressure levels in your tires tend to rise and fall. Keep them inflated to the levels listed on your driver’s side B-pillar placard, and you will notice an improved difference in your ride and fuel mileage.Also, don’t neglect to check your fluids including: motor oil, brake fluid, power steering fluid, engine coolant, transmission fluid, windshield washer fluid, (and DEF fluid, if you have a newer diesel).

The event takes place on the exclusive Amelia Island, Fl, which happens to be the northernmost point in Florida. Although this is not a local Section event, this is a major National event, and will be worth your while if you’re able to make it!https://www.ameliaconcours.org/

MBUSA upgrades EPCIf you are a local repair shop, or a do-it-yourselfer, a good resource in the past for part numbers on specific models has been EPC (Electronic Parts Catalog). Recently MBUSA upgraded the system so that it is web-based, making it available to run on many types of devices. [read more]
