Saturday, July 18 - UNITED STATES - FRANKFURTIndependent travel to either Boston Logan Airport or JFK Airport. Board your scheduled flight to Frankfurt, Germany. Dinner and overnight onboard the flight. (D) Sunday, July 19 - FRANKFURT - ROME Upon arrival in Frankfurt, board your next flight for a late morning arrival in Rome. The city, whose history dates back over 2500 years, was the center of the Roman Empire, a focus of art in the Renaissance and today is the thriving capital of Italy. Meet your European coach and tour escort and transfer to your centrally located hotel for check-in. Your afternoon is free for independent activities. Pre-dinner welcome by the tour directors. Dinner and overnight in Rome. (B,D)

Monday, July 20 - ROME Morning sightseeing tour of the ancient capital. View the Pantheon, standing just as it had when rebuilt by Hadrian during AD 117-125. See the Roman Forum, where Julius Caesar addressed the Roman senators, and Palatine Hill, where the Imperial Palace overlooked ancient Rome. Afternoon visit to the Colosseum to stand where Romans watched countless gladiators, beasts and others “entertain” the masses. This evening’s dinner includes musical entertainment. Overnight in Rome. Tuesday, July 21 - ROMEMorning visit to the Vatican City to see St. Peter’s Basilica and square. The remainder of your day is free for independent exploring. Perhaps view the Appian Way and the underground maze of the catacombs, wander through the Roman neighborhoods, visit some of the countless ornate churches or explore one of the numerous museums. Independent dinner. Overnight in Rome. (B)

Wednesday, July 22 - ORVIETO - FLORENCE Travel north through the lovely Italian countryside. Stop for independent lunch and exploring in the ancient hill town of Orvieto. Inhabited since Etruscan times, the town gained distinction in the Middle Ages as a major cultural center. Perhaps visit the 14th century cathedral or the papal palace. Afternoon travel into the region of Tuscany, known for its vineyards, olive groves and picturesque mountain towns. Arrive in the Renaissance city of Florence. Dinner and overnight in Florence. (B,D)

Thursday, July 23 - FLORENCE On your morning walking tour of this incomparable city, view the Duomo, the bronze doors of the Baptistry, and the Piazza della Signora. Afternoon visit to the Museum Accademia to view Michelangelo’s David and other masterpieces. Free time for browsing the shops filled with leather goods and jewelry and bargaining in the busy open air market. Stroll across the Ponte Vecchio, “the street of gold,” where jewelers have sold their wares since the 16th century. Independent dinner. Overnight in Florence. (B)

Friday, July 24 - FLORENCEYour day is entirely free for independent activities. Perhaps visit Santa Croce, a lovely church which houses monuments to Galileo Galilei, Machiavelli, Michelangelo and many others. The Uffizi Gallery is home to one of the largest collections of Renaissance art in the world. Independent dinner. Overnight in Florence. (B)

Saturday, July 25 - PISA - SPA TOWN, ITALYMorning visit the city of Pisa and view the Leaning Tower. This famous landmark, which is the bell tower of the nearby cathedral, began to tilt before it was even completed! Continue travel east across Italy to a spa town just outside of Venice. Time to enjoy the your spa hotel pools and other amenities or to shop and explore in the beautiful town. Dinner and overnight in the spa town. (B,D)

Sunday, July 26 - VENICEVenice, built on 717 islands with 150 canals and 400 bridges, invites exploration. Visit the Piazza San Marco for pictures of the magnificent St. Mark’s Cathedral and the rose-colored Doge’s Palace. A kaleidoscope of activity beckons as you stroll over bridges and along the narrow streets. Perhaps hire a gondola for a memorable ride under the Bridge of Sighs. Return to the spa town for dinner and overnight. (B,D)

Monday, July 27 - VERONAExcursion to the ancient city of Verona. Your guided walking tour of this historic city will include the 2,000-year-old marketplace, Juliet’s Balcony and the magnificent Roman arena completed in 30 AD. Free time for lunch and to explore the city. Return to the spa town for dinner and overnight. (B,D)

RESPONSIBILITY AGREEMENT

Tour participants shall be covered by all conditions, provisions, rules, regulations, waivers and agreements entered into with American Music Abroad during the time on the tour, whether spent in this country or abroad, from the date of joining American Music Abroad until released by American Music Abroad.

American Music Abroad is not responsible for claims for loss, theft or damage, to any personal property, including but not limited to luggage, baggage or money brought on the tour. Any such losses, whether covered by insurance or uncovered, shall not be the responsibility of American Music Abroad. Participants assume all liability for any and all losses or damages, whether personal or property, which may arise from this trip.

American Music Abroad must be informed in writing of any medical condition which might present a problem for the tour participant or for American Music Abroad in permitting the individual to join the tour and participate in all activities. Any special expenses incurred by or on behalf of individual participants must be reimbursed to Ameri-can Music Abroad and its staff; such special expenses shall include but not be limited to medical or psychological care, drugs or other treatments, transportation including airfare to or from any point for any reason including ill health and communication costs.

American Music Abroad does not act as warrantor or guarantor for the various companies, institutions and associa-tions whose services, accommodations and equipment are made available in connection with its tours. American Music Abroad expressly assumes no responsibility or liability arising from the provision or use of any such equip-ment and/or services, including but not limited to transportation, room and food.

All rates are based on tariffs and costs in effect June 2019 and are subject to change and/or confirmation when final payment is made. In the event that it becomes necessary or advisable, for any reason whatsoever, to alter the itinerary or arrangements, such alterations may be made. Additional expenses, if any, shall be borne by partici-pants, conversely, refunds will be made if any savings ensues.

Any and all rights, demands, actions, causes of action and claims for injury, damage and/or loss arising during the period of tour membership or under this agreement that a participant may have against American Music Abroad, its organizers, owners, employees and volunteers, both personally and in their official or professional capacities shall be waived and released by the tour participant; this waiver and release shall include but not be limited to any and all claims which may result from American Music Abroad’s exercise of discretion, service or transportation providers and equipment, and the acts, defaults or defects thereof, as well as any and all damages arising from natural or political events.

American Music Abroad accepts no responsibility for loss or additional expenses resulting from improper pass-ports, visas or other documents.

Any requests for individual modification of the tour by tour member must be requested in writing.

In the event that membership must be cancelled for any reason after the date of the final commitment, no rebate, refund or credit will be owed or issued by American Music Abroad.
