Advent & Christmas Season Celebrations at Emanuel Lutheran While the weather is just turning a little chilly, the many volunteers and staff at Emanuel have already been preparing for the season of Advent & Christmas. Below are some of the events to mark in your calendars for that are just around the corner! The Season of Advent begins on Sunday, December 1, and you are invited to join us for all our worship celebrations and at our Wednesday evening services on December 4, 11, 18 starting at 6pm with dinner in the Social Hall and 7pm with worship in the Sanctuary. The Annual Women’s Ministry Christmas Tea has the theme of: “For Unto Us A Child Is Born” and is being held on December 7! Be assured this will be a joyous sold-out celebration!! The Children’s Ministry will bless us on December 8 at both Sunday worship celebrations. Emanuel’s children have been busy learning lines, checking out costumes, and singing joyful songs celebrating the birth of Jesus! Christmas Eve Celebrations at Emanuel are, and this is no surprise, on December 24 at 5pm & 11:00pm. Christmas Eve at Emanuel Lutheran Church celebrates the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ, with 2 different-styled celebrations to meet your worship desires. The 5pm Christmas Eve worship celebration will be one for families to gather and celebrate Jesus with the Choir sharing a blessing with us. Emanuel’s second Christmas Eve worship celebration is at 11pm and this is a more reflective time, while sharing Holy Communion, as we celebrate the birth of our Savior at midnight. We are also blessed to have worship on Christmas Day, at 10am, where we will celebrate Holy Communion together. Join us for a great month of celebrating God and don’t forget that your family and friends are especially open to invitations at this time of year to join you in worship on Sundays or even on Wednesdays! Thank you so much for your giving to the General Fund thus far in 2019. Also, the designated giving at Emanuel has been a great blessing to many. As we express our attitude of gratitude in the financial realm we are following God’s call to be good stewards of all He has given us!
For your information: Our average weekly General Offering giving through November 17 is $5,892. Thank you! Yet our budgeted need is $6,148. I ask that as you review ALL of your sources of income in 2019 you ask yourself: Have I been faithful in my Biblical financial stewardship? If there is any doubt, then be confident there is still time this year to give to God’s church, your church, Emanuel Lutheran.
The last worship celebration of the year will be Sunday, December 29 but all contributions received through December 31 will be recorded as 2019 gifts.
Please contact us for further instructions if you wish to make non-cash gifts such as stock. Please note that gifts of this type should be planned to ensure that any transfer of assets will be completed by December 31.
Remember that thanks to your generosity, God’s church, your church, our church is able to accomplish daily ministry in the name of Jesus the Christ.
Thank you for your generous support of the ministries of Emanuel Lutheran. If you have questions or need assistance, contact Tami Herendeen 327-2094 or Pastor Chris at 334-2130.
