FINANCIAL REPORT
If I step on your toes, my toes or someone else’s toes then good and I’m sorry. The numbers tell the truth and we must all realize where we stand on giving. In our Finance meetings, we decided to take the deficit amount out of the bulletin on Sunday because it does not look good to visitors. We question, what is the best time of the year to implement a pledge campaign to not interfere with current events? How often should giving be preached on Sunday? Are we really offended by hearing what the Bible say’s about giving? Deuter-onomy 15:10 “Give generously to him and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.”
I will get the ball rolling in the next 2 weeks on Sunday. I will be coming around to Sunday School classes to discuss details of the 2016 and 2017 budget, total budget expenses paid and answer any financial questions about the church that I can. I will explain real ex-pense numbers and why it is important to give as the Bible says. We must start fully funding the staff, ministries, utilities and expenses of the church on an annual basis. Hopefully, eve-ryone will get a better understanding of the importance of giving as it relates to our church. This church has the means to support over and beyond our budget needs. Deuteronomy 16:17 “Every person shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD your God which He has given you.”
Now let’s take a look at where we are now on the giving to the General Budget for 2016. As of November 27, we have a deficit of $ 66,620.40 that is needed to fully fund the budget. Our expenses to date are about equal to our budget. Therefore, we are over spend-ing our giving by about $6,056.40 a month. The GOOD NEWS, we have reserve cash funds from prior years to cover our loss! However, we are quickly depleting our reserves. It is ex-tremely important that we give generously this last month to recover some or all, of our defi-cit. 2 Corinthians 9:7 “You should each give what you have decided in your heart to give. You shouldn’t give if you do not want to. You shouldn’t give because you are forced to. God loves a cheerful giver.”
You will soon receive a Statement of Giving from the church listing all of your contri-butions received by the church through November 2016. Please check your records to make sure they match the records of the church. Please notify the church office of any discrepan-cies.
In closing, we have not come close to reaching our potential for giving. Won’t you pray that we will give as the Bible states? That we give for the right motives? That we give joyously? And that we will give extravagantly! John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that HE GAVE his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him wouldn’t perish, but would have eternal life.” It is your heart that will decide on where we will end up in 2016 for total contributions. Our contributions are changing lives! Merry Christmas.

STEPHEN MINISTERS CHRISTMAS PRAYER
Loving God,
The annual celebration of your incarnation in the form of Jesus approaches.
This should be a happy and blessed occasion.
Yet many people grieve the absence of one or more friends or family members whom distance, estrangement, incarceration, or death separate from them.
Bestow upon those who grieve the consolation of your Holy Spirit, that they may rejoice in your love and mercy.
We pray in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, fully human and fully divine. Amen.
