The fX Lifestyle X’nter mall is not an average shopping center. Catering to young executive professionals aged from 25 to 45, it provides a high-functioning environment that meets both business and leisure needs in one convenient, ultra-modern space. The center houses an integrated business center, and 11 conference rooms, which all feature internet connectivity, telecommunication and teleconferencing facilities. The challenge The fX Lifestyle X’nter has 3 major sections: shops, offices, and apartments. Each of these sections has different network requirements. fX has approximately 200 shops, including retail outlets, restaurants and bars, all of which require numerous phone connections, Electronic Data Capture (EDC) connections, streaming video/TV, and electronic payment gateways. Furthermore, these connections have to be available from morning until midnight. The offices require a large number of data connections to critical server based applications and internal Voice over IP (VoIP) phone connections, along with connections out to the analog PSTN city telephone network. High network availability is paramount in this converged environment. The apartments have Triple Play—digital phone, streaming video/TV and Internet connection—provided, and so require around the clock network access for communication, to cater for people’s busy lifestyles. Chassis Stacking (VCStackTM) to create a single virtual chassis out of multiple units. This provides a resilient solution with no single point of failure.
