A/Prof Clare O’Callaghan
Dr clare O’callaghan is the Senior research Associate in Palliative care at cabrini Health. She is also an honorary Associate Professor, Department of Medicine, St Vincent’s Hospital, and a music therapist in caritas christi Hospice and the oncology ward at St Vincent’s Hospital. clare developed expertise in qualitative and mixed methods research during her career as a music therapist-researcher and was an NHMrc Post-Doctoral Fellow in 2008-2009. Since 2011, clare has brought qualitative research expertise to many oncology and end-of-life care research collaborations, including in advance care planning.
A/Prof Michele Levinson
Michele Levinson is Associate Professor of Medicine and Head of the cabrini- Monash Department of Medicine and the clinical Dean of the cabrini Monash clinical School. She graduated in Medicine from the university of Melbourne and holds fellowships of the royal Australasian college of Physicians and the college of Intensive care Medicine. She has a research MD in nutrition and metabolism in the critically ill.
Her research interest is the delivery of quality care at the end of life. She has published a number of papers on knowledge and attitudes to cardiopulmonary resuscitation of both health care staff and patients, as well as on frailty, delirium and undergraduate medical education.
Dr Scott Fraser
Dr. Scott Fraser is the Project Manager for Advance care Planning research and evaluation of Advance care Planning Australia (AcPA), the peak body for advance care planning in Australia. Scott comes from a medical research background with over 40 peer reviewed publications and has specialised in advance care planning for the last 3 years. Scott has worked on a range of national, state and local projects aimed at providing evidence to support practice in delivering advance care planning to all Australian communities regardless of diagnosis, language or culture.
currently, Scott’s focus is on consumer consultation and the development of resources for Australians from diverse backgrounds to better engage in Advance care Planning..
Ms Hayley Compton
Hayley is the General Practice Improvement and Integration Officer at eastern Melbourne Primary Health Network. An energetic and innovative Division 1 registered Nurse, Hayley is committed to promoting and supporting the advancement of primary health care and the vital role that primary health care nurses play in improving health outcomes. Hayley draws on her experience as a Practice Nurse in designing, developing and delivering a high standard of quality improvement and professional development for nurses and practice staff working in primary care. Hayley has a demonstrated ability to lead, engage others, drive innovation and achieve outcomes.
Dr Tessa Saunders
tessa has worked for over 10 years managing a range of primary health care programs, both in tasmania and Melbourne. She is currently the program manager for Advance care Planning and Palliative care at the North Western Melbourne Primary Health Network. tessa recently lead a project which involved 15 different organisations (including 5 general practices) working collaboratively to implement AcP into usual practice.
tessa has a PhD from the university of tasmania and is currently completing a Masters in Public Health at Monash university, including a minor research project examining the effects of collaborative models for AcP.
