Whereas, the corporate authorities of the City ofAlton have established a date to conduct a hear-ing on the advisability of dissolving and abolishingAlton Township with said hearing being authorizedand required pursuant to 60 ILCS 1/29-10; and,
Whereas, dissolution of the Alton Township, if ap-proved by a referendum of the voters of Alton
Township and the City of Alton, will cause the fol-lowing: (1) the discontinuance and abolishment ofAlton Township; (2) transfer all the rights, powers,duties, assets, property, liabilities, obligations, andresponsibilities of Alton Township to the City of
Alton; (3) cease and dissolve all township road dis-tricts, if any, within the City of Alton and all author-ity of the township road districts, if any, shall betransferred to the City of Alton upon the dissolu-
tion of Alton Township; and,
Now, Therefore, Be Advised:
That, a Public Hearing Pursuant to the authority of60 ILCS 1/29-10 will be on the, 27th day of June,2018 at 6:30 p.m. at Alton City Hall, 101 E. ThirdStreet, Alton, IL 62002 to consider the discontinu-ance of the Alton Township, being coterminous
with the City of Alton.
