Use this PowerPoint to introduce an Adopt-a-Shelf program in
your library.
1. The first thing I should do when I enter the library for checkout is talk to my friends.
2. Spine labels should be placed toward the top of the shelf.3. It’s okay to use quiet voices in the library.4. If I’m having trouble finding a book, I can use the online
catalog, ask a friend for help, or ask the librarian.5. It doesn’t matter if I check a book out under someone else’s
name.6. If I let someone else borrow my library book, I’m not
responsible for it.7. After I’ve checked my books out, I should sit in my assigned
seat and read quietly.

How? You will make sure the books are in order by their call

1) Browse the shelves.
2) When you find the shelf you would like to adopt, write your name and the shelf number on the Shelf Sign-Up
3) Write your name neatly on a nametag. Tape your name to the shelf.
4) Organize and neaten your shelf!
