Adjectives are describing words that tell us more about the people or things they describe.

TYPES OF ADJECTIVES1. Descriptive Adjectives2. Adjectives of quantity3. Demonstrative Adjectives4. Interrogative Adjectives5. Possessive Adjectives

Descriptive Adjectives tell us about the following of a noun :

1. Colour 2. Shape3. Size4. Texture5. Condition

Example : The little puppy.

We use adjectives of quantity to show the amount of number of things.

Example: I play tennis every day.

I know a few people in London

We use Demonstrative Adjective to help us point out the exact noun we are refering to.

Following are some of the Demonstrative Adjectives we use :

We use Interrogative Adjectives to ask a question with reference to a particular noun

Example : Whose book is that ?

Possessive Adjectives indicate ownership .

Example : This is our house. The following words are Possessive

Punctuation marks are signs that we use in writing to make the meaning of our sentence clear.

These signs include• FULLSTOP . • COMMA , • APOSTROPHE ‘• EXCLAMATION MARK !• COLON :• SEMI COLON ;

The main job of the comma is to show us where to pause while reading.

EXAMPLE:

2. Can you help me , please?

We place a question mark at the end of a direct question.

Example: 1.What is your name? 2.Are you coming with me?

We place an exclamation mark at the end of sentence that express strong feelings.
