Paste, low slump, spreadable, applicable by using a sealant applicator gun
Preparation The surfaces must be dry, clean and free from grease. Adhesion to pla-stics and paints must be tested for compatibility by carrying out prelimina-ry tests. For the cleaning of the substrate we recommend Körasolv PU orCR. In case of powder coated substrates Körasolv WL should be used.To increase bond strength of non porous substrates such as glass, glass-fibre reinforced plastics, aluminium, stainless steel, etc. we recommendthe use of Körabond HG 81 or HG 83. For porous substrates such aswood, Körabond HG 74 E is recommended. For certain plastics such asABS or PVC adhesion can be improved by the use of Körabond HG 77.Users are advised to confirm the compatibility and suitability of the pro-ducts with their own test.
Bonding Apply the material onto the substrate, using a spatula or a sealant appli-cator gun. The thickness of the adhesive layer will depend on the type ofmaterials to be bonded. The materials to be bonded should be pressedfirmly together within 20 minutes after application of the sealant adhesi-ve. We recommend mechanical fixing until a complete cure is obtained.Curing time depends on temperature, humidity and joint dimensions.
Storage Do not store at temperatures below +5°C or above +25°C.Stored in unopened containers, usable for up to 9 months.
Clean tools immediately after use with Körasolv PU.Cured material can only be removed mechanically.

Bonding For one-side application, apply aneven layer of the adhesive to thesubstrate to be bonded using atoothed trowel. Immediately, notlater than 10 minutes after applica-tion of the adhesive, join the sub-strates together and use a brush ora roller to ensure complete contact.Remove any excess adhesive withwater immediately. Join the two substratesand pres firmly together. Do notexpose the bond to mechanicalstress during the first 3-8 hours ofthe curing time.
The adhesive is applied by sprayingequipment gun with a pressure of3-5 bar and a nozzle of 1.5 mm dia-mater. After curing (approx. 60minutes at room temperature, canbe accelerated by heat) teh adhesi-on follows in, depending on thesubstrate in vacuum drawing pro-cess or heated squeezer (membra-ne pressing). The sealing time depends on theheat conductance of the materials.Sealing time and heat conductancehave to be determined in pre-tests.The maximum temperature resi-stance is reached after 3-4 days.

Apply the adhesive with spray jetapplication evenly on the two partsto be bonded. Pressure and dia-meter of the nozzle will depend onthe application. After a waiting time(ventilation time) of approx. 10-15minutes place the parts accuratelyand press firmly together. The wai-ting time depends on room tempe-rature, thickness of the adhesivelayer and absorbancy of the surfa-ce. The surfaces should be pres-sed together when the adhesivefilm is still slightly sticky but doesnot stick to the finger when lightlypressed.

The surfaces to be bonded mustbe dry, clean and free from dustand grease. As the curing process is startedwith air humidity, the humidity inthe workrooms should amount to40-70 % r.h.
Due to the variety of different PVCtypes, especially soft PVC, prelimi-nary tests have to be carried out forexamination of swelling and dissol-ving characteristics. Clean contaminated foils withKörasolv GL.
Preparation
Körasolv PU Cleaning
Exact dosing by using the applica-tor nozzle. Join the parts to bebonded together as long as theadhesive film is still wet and pressfor 10-12 seconds. Within this timethe adhesive will only harden parti-ally. The two pieces will nonethe-less adhere so tightly that adjust-ment is no longer possible.Complete curing will be achievedafter 24 hours.
Bonding Apply Köratac DF 841 abundantlyto one side using a soft brush orspraying equipment. Press bothparts immediately together withoutventilation, so that a small bead isformed at the overlapping end. Ifthe surfaces to be bonded havealready dried too much, the bon-ding procedure can be repeated. Ifhigh initial tack is required, applyKöratac DF 841 on both sides andpress together after a drying time of2-5 minutes. Köratac DF 841 maycause a yellow cast on white orvery bright foils. This does notcause any negative effect neither tothe foil nor to the bond.

Cleaning Clean tools and remove fresh spots with Körasolv PU.
Jointing Apply the material using a gun, in which the cartridges or sausages areinserted. Trapping of air bubbles have to be avoided. The final seal isachieved after all the volatile materials have evaporated. Evaporationtime depends on the temperature and the joint dimension. When usingKödiplast for bonding of EPDM foils a trivial wrinkling of the foil mayoccur in particular cases. This effect is reversed completely after a shorttime.
Storage Do not store below +10°C or above +25°C.Stored in unopened containers, usable for up to 9 months.
The joints to be sealed must be dry, clean and free from dust andgrease. Otherwise adhesion decrease may occur. To degrease nonporous surfaces like glass or metal, use Körasolv GL. Please contact ourtechnical department if the product is used with plastics such as polycar-bonate or PMMA (stress cracking!)
Preparation
Apply the sealant into the gap using a sealant applicator gun. To achievea better wetting, the material should be applied with a certain pressureagainst the joint edges. Wider joints should be filled in several operati-ons. Apply the sealant to the joint edges at first to ensure the contact tothe complete surface of the edges of the joint.
Jointing
The joints to be sealed must be at least 4 mm wide and 4 mm deep. Forjoint widths up to approx. 5 mm a square cross-section is most suitable. For wider joints the joint depth should be at least half the joint widthPrior to sealing a stable, non absorbant insert material, possibly convex,e.g. polyethylene foam, is to be pressed into the joint in a way that theadhesion surface on the joint flanks is maximised (see DIN 18 540). It is recommended to cover the edges of the gap with self-adhesive tapein order to ensure a clean and straight joint. Triple surface adhesion is to be avoided.

Köratape is designed for use in a wide variety of industrial and constructi-on applications. Typical applications include automotive trim attachment, trail skin-to-frameassembly, signs, graphics, furniture appliance and electrical componentassemblies.
The substrate to be bonded should be dry and free from dust, oil andrelease agents. Clean the substrate no more than 15 minutes prior to thebonding with Körasolv CR, GL or WL and allow to dry. To remove all contaminants without leaving any residue use a clean, lint-free wiping cloth or disposable wipe. Dispose both wipes afterwards.Ensure optimum temperature of the substrate, not below +15°C.
Preparation
1. Apply the adhesive tape onto the cleaned substrate with a recomm-mended application pressure (approx. 2,5 kg/cm²). Adhesive strengthdepends on the contact between adhesive and the surfaces to be bon-ded.
2. Remove the protective liner for the connection to the second substrateand proceed as instructed in step 1.
