Master’s Message

To the Brothers and Friends of Adelphi Momauguin Lodge No. 63,

As everyone should notice our trestleboard has been reinvented

and I hope you all like it. We have taken the suggestions of many brothers to make this new

trestleboard, and will try to continue the excellence and great work of Bro. Carl Ek, who has been creating the trestleboard for many years.

This year will be both an exciting and nerve-wracking year for me, however it should be an enjoyable year for the craft. I promise as Worshipful Master, that each stated communication will have an event or presentation. I feel

that each lodge meeting should have something exciting to look forward to.

I want to thank everyone who has supported, pushed

and made sure that I become a worthy brother. Without the help, guidance and motivation from many different people I would not be the man that I am today. Hopefully,

I won’t let you down. Thank you for this opportunity.

President’s MessageDear Brothers,

     As I contemplate on what to write as my very first Trestleboard message, I find myself thinking about the shoes I have to fill. Therefore, I would like to extend my appreciation and gratitude to James Tirrell as Fellowcraft President; he has done an excellent job over the last two years, and I can only hope to follow in his footsteps. I would also like to thank the lodge for giving me the opportunity to serve you as the incoming President of the Fellowcraft Club. I can sincerely say that I will put forth 100% as President, but with that said, I also urge you to remember that the Fellowcraft Club is only strong as the members who attend its meetings and events. I realize that many of you are busy, I am guilty of being too busy to attend many of the meetings and events (except for card nights). HOWEVER! The New Year is upon us, and perhaps one of your New Year's Resolutions this year can be to try to attend more meetings and events. That is why I personally challenge every brother in the lodge to find time to attend ONE Fellowcraft Club meeting and ONE Fellowcraft Club event. In closing, I would just like to wish the lodge a wonderful year, and stay tuned for more information about upcoming Fellowcraft Club events.

President’s Message

Dear Brothers, Hopefully, everyone has had a safe and happy holiday season.

My, how the time flies. The TBA recently removed all paraphernalia from the storage shed that we were renting in order to save money. We will now buy a shed to store what is left, in order to save approximately $2500 a year. Our old chairs went to a church and elder lady who recently lost all her furniture due to a flood in her house. We still do have some items that we would like to lend. In particular if anyone knows of a lodge in need of an organ, please let us know. This must go to a lodge and not a Church as it was given to us as a gift. I hope that everyone will have a happy new year!

Haven. Registration begins at 9:00 AM. More details will follow about this great event. Last year

In May 1923, the property at 126 Grand Avenue being owned by the Quinn Family became available and was purchased by the Fair Haven Temple Association. This building was purchased for $17,000. This was Adelphi Lodge’s home from 1926 until 1994.

During the celebration of Adelphi Lodge’s Centennial in 1923, an out-door Master Mason degree was held in a large tent on the property of Worshipful Brother William G. Newton.

A Blast from the Past....

In June 1897, Adelphi Lodge No. 63 moved from King’s Tavern to a new hall, constructed by Bro. Richard Tibbals located about two city blocks away at 103 Grand Avenue. The building was called the Tibbals Building and the Masonic lodge room within was consecrated "Wadsworth Hall.”

Brother James A. Tirrell, President of the Adelphi Fellowcraft Club presents Worshipful Brother John G. Radeach with a plaque for his service to the club. Worshipful Brother Radeach was the driving force behind a fundraiser that raised over $1100 for the Fellowcraft Club.

On Jan 17th, 2009, the officers of Adelphi Momaguin Lodge No. 63 were installed at the North Haven Masonic Building.

On April 26th, 2009, the brothers, family and friends of Adelphi Momauguin Lodge No. 63 participated in the March of Dimes - March for Babies. The lodge was able to raise over $1200 to donate to this worthy cause.

On June 30th, 2009, Adelphi Momauguin Lodge No. 63 hosted a meeting of the 4th Masonic District Blue Lodge Council. A fantastic prime rib dinner was made and all in attendance enjoyed themselves. Our Grand Master, Most Worshipful Brother Arthur H. Carlstrom was also in attendance and spoke about his plans for 2009.

On June 13th, 2009, the Grand Lodge of Connecticut held its Grand Masters Day in Wallingford. Several of our brothers attended this fantastic day and enjoyed the several events that were planned.

On October 17th, 2009, Brothers Carl Ek, William G. Demetriades, Wayne Bailey, Charles Tirrell and James Tirrell attended the semi-annual communication of the Grand Lodge of Connecticut in Wallingford.

In October, while traveling in Australia, Worshipful Brother Daniel Hawthorne visited Lodge Kiama. Our brothers “down under” made Brother Dan feel welcome and allowed him to learn more about the universality of Masonic brotherhood.
