Secretary Report

Hi again, this is our last newsletter for the 2012/2013 season & boy has it been a busy season for everyone on our

committee & our members. This year we held 7 shows & 2 clinics, all of which were a great success for you as

members & the club financially. I have enjoyed my time with the club again this year, working with a fantastic

committee. We had some ups & downs, but all worked very hard to produce another great season with LOTS of

positive feedback, so THANK YOU to all those that said thanks, either to us personally or as a whole committee,

sometimes that’s all we need to hear to keep us motivated

For past few years the AGM has been held during the High Point Dinner & has been a great success, therefore we

will be doing the same again this year! We will be holding the High Point Dinner & AGM at Globe Derby Park

Committee Room, Port Wakefield Road, Globe Derby. The AGM will only go for a short time, at which all

committee positions will become vacant & a new committee will be elected, don’t be shy!! Come along & join us to

celebrate the season, congratulate those who have worked hard to win their End Of Year High Points, have a few

laughs & some may even have a small wager on the races

The End of Year High Point Award Results are available to view in this newsletter & on our website.

We held the SA Appaloosa Championships 2013 on the 26th & 27th April at the Mallala Equestrian Centre this year.

This was the first time I had ever been involved in running a State Show & what a BIG job!! We had twenty one

entrants for the show, who all did very well & looked amazing!! I must say a HUGE thank you to all our sponsors,

with special mention our major sponsors The District Council Of Mallala, Access Hire SA, Diesel Worx & Equissage,

without them, the club would have really struggled financially!! Thank you to our show officials (I will include a list of

everyone involved on the day), especially Adrienne Clarke who was appointed Official Photographer at the last

minute (& did a wonderful job) & those of you who helped out leading up to & during the show, every bit of help

was appreciated no matter how small!

The Diamond Futurity show was ran in conjunction with the State Show & was a huge success with over 30 horses

entered!! Thanks to Natalie Fries who generously sponsored towards the beautiful Diamonds again this year &

congratulations to those of you that won one I would like to thank Joanne Gregory for Judging, Brendalea for

Stewarding & looking after Joanne, Brian on the Gate, Terry & Chloe for the Canteen, Jim for Announcing &

everyone else who helped out (I hope I haven’t forgotten anyone!!). I have included the results from both shows & a

few photos from each too

The Mark Shaffer Clinic will be happening again this year. As was discussed at last years Clinic, I will be holding a

Private Clinic (for riders that have been to 3 or more of Mark’s Foundation Clinics) all proceeds will be forwarded

to ARAC. This Clinic will be held on 25th & 26th November 2013 & is limited to 8 riders at a cost of $500 per rider,

positions will be held in order of deposits taken. The Foundation Clinic will be held on 23rd & 24th November, 2013,

this year, after the success & feedback from the riders from last years clinic, we will limit the riders to 10 at a cost of

$500 per rider, this will ensure you get to spend a lot of individual time with Mark. To make sure these Clinics go

ahead, please get your booking forms & deposits in asap.

We are also running another Terese Searle Halter Clinic this year on 31st August 2013, this clinic is already filling fast

so get your booking forms & deposits in quickly.

Lastly I would like to say a very big thank you to Brian Dedicoat, Jo Kuchel, Terry Thompson, Debbie Cotton, Chloe

Trussell, Tracey Ahrns, Naomi Moore & Brendalea Packer, your help throughout the season has been fantastic so
