The Supreme Council for Romaniadecided that on its 130th Anniversary allthe locations of the Masonic and profane

events should have a historic resonance. Therefore, SCR is hosting all its

guests in the Novotel Hotel. One maywonder what the history of that placeis?! Well, in that place was founded the

first National Theatre of Romania, ledat that time by a Freemason. Even the

building had the appearance of a

Masonic Temple. Many years after itwas destroyed, on the same spot was

built todays hotel which kept the

entrance facade of the former National

Theater. The hotel is located on the main

historical street of Bucharest, VictorysPath. In front of the hotel is anotherhistorical building for Romania, built in

the same year as the Supreme Council

    for Romania.

Bucharest is the capital city, cultural, industrial, and

financial centre of Romania. It is the largest city in

Romania, located in the southeast of the country on the

banks of the Dmbovi a River.

Bucharest was first mentioned in documents as early as

1459. Its eclectic architecture is a mix of historical (neo-

classical), interbellum (Bauhaus and Art Deco) and

    modern.

First mentioned as "the Citadel of Bucharest" in 1459,it became a residence of the Romanian ruler Vlad III the

Impaler, commonly known in the Western world as CountDracula.

Bucharest has a diverse and growing cultural scene,

with cultural life exhibited in a number of various fields,

including the visual arts, performing arts and nightlife.Unlike other parts of Romania, such as the Black Sea coast

or Transylvania, Bucharest's cultural scene is much more

eclectic, without a defined style, and instead incorporates

various elements of Romanian and international culture.

Bucharest has an eclectic mixture of elements from

traditionally Romanian buildings to buildings that are

influenced by French architects. It is because of this

French influence that Bucharest was once called "the Paris

of the East" or "Little Paris."
