WHY IS SALT IMPORTANT?

Page 4: ADD SALT

The recent generations don’t understant its importance.

Page 5: ADD SALT

Page 10: ADD SALT

3. ESSENTIAL FOR NATIONS TO WIN THEIR WARS

SALT was absolutely fundamental in the old times

WHAT DID JESUS SAY ABOUT SALT?Mat. 5:13

We are the salt of the earth. Salt is good while maintains its saltiness (its

capacity to be salty again). It is no longer good for anything if it loses its

saltiness, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.

Mark 9:48-50 “Everyone will be salted with fire.

Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can you make it salty again? Have salt among yourselves, and be at peace with each other.”

Salt is good while it keeps its saltiness.Have salt among your selves.Everyone will be salted with fire.

Page 17: ADD SALT

When the salt loses its saltiness?

Page 18: ADD SALT

When it is not salty anymore and does not preserve anything.

Page 19: ADD SALT

SALT has to keep its saltiness and properties

Page 20: ADD SALT

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO US TODAY?

SEASON ALL OFFERINGS

Season all your grain offerings with salt. Do not leave the salt of the covenant of your God out of your grain offerings; add salt to all your offerings. (Leviticus 2:13)

Page 22: ADD SALT

It enforced the convenat God had with His people.

A grain without salt would not be accepted by God. The commandment was: add salt to all your offerings.

A CITY SAVED BY A BOWL OF SALT

Page 24: ADD SALT

2 Kings 2:19-22 19 The people of the city said to Elisha, “Look, our

lord, this town is well situated, as you can see, but the water is bad and the land is unproductive.” 20 “Bring me a new bowl,” he said, “and put salt in it.” So they brought it to him. 21 Then he went out to the spring and threw the salt into it, saying, “This is what the LORD says: ‘I have healed this water. Never again will it cause death or make the land unproductive.’” 22 And the water has remained pure to this day, according to the word Elisha had spoken.

Page 25: ADD SALT

A CITY SAVED BY A BOWL OF SALT

• The city had 2 serious survival and environmental problems:

• The water was bad• The land was unproductive• People were dying because of the bad water

Page 26: ADD SALT

The real problem

• The water was so bad that caused the land to be unproductive and people to die from drinking it.

Page 27: ADD SALT

The solution

• Salt was dropped in the water and the water was purified.

Page 28: ADD SALT

We can be the same

• We can do the same thing to a city that is drinking from poisoned water.

• We can be the salt that purifies that water.
