corn/maize Maize has been grown in Australia for more than
150 years.Corn is a cereal crop. There are over 3,500 different uses for corn products.
Corn is now a completely unlikely to find it growing in the wild. Corn will always have an even number of rows on each cob.

Corn is called maize by most countries; this comes from the Spanish word ‘maize’. Corn is healthy
Corn is healthy what do you think of when you look at a corn field? Popcorn? Corn flakes? Sweet corn? Did you know that popcorn and sweet corn come from different plants?
Juices and soft drinks like Coca-Cola and Pepsi contain corn sweeteners.

SoybeansThere is also a growing demand from Asian countries, including Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia, for Australian edible soybeans. Japan alone imports almost half a million tonnes of tofu grade soybeans each year.
As well as out porting soybeans to other countries Australia also imports soybeans from other countries.

A small amount of soybean products are transferred into the foods that we eat daily such as soy milk, soy flour, tofu and some chocolate yogurt product. Oil seed production in Australia is approximately 6% of annual global grain production
Soybeans As well as out porting soybeans to other countries Australia also imports soybeans from other countries. Some products with soybeans are more related to other countries such as china which has Chinese noodles, and soy milk is actually Indian.
Australia also imports almost half a million tonnes of tofu grade soybeans Up until the late 1990’2 almost 50% of the crop was crushed for meal and oil and a further 25% went into full fat meal for intensive livestock. The human consumption market only accounted for around 25-30% and the remaining 5% was retained for planting seed.
