The owner’s experience:I was very fortunate to have a supporting family that encouraged the personal development and professional aspirations of a young energetic individual. My first trip to China was in 2002 with my school at the time, Calday Grange Grammar. They were the 2nd school in the entire country to provide GCSE Mandarin within the main curriculum and believed in me enough to allow me to be the first British student to take the A-level. The trip changed the course of my entire life, 3 weeks of intense exposure and exploration of the Chinese language and culture in the mystical orient. I was indeed hooked. 2007 instead of progressing through to university I trained as a TEFL teacher and moved to China aged 18. What a fantastic experience, more then 3 years of teaching and studying in China, I became engrained with the language and culture. 2010 I learnt how it felt to be responsible, my surrogate Chinese family taught me about the importance of being the eldest. I returned to England and began sharing this great country with the UK.

We work very closely with our partners and our schools to set up a lasting fruitful relationship between UK and China. Unlike other providers of this service we are on hand to support you all year round. We deal with local government and private schools in China to provide high quality partners that all qualify to attend this program.

The requirements• 4 year MoU agreement to student exchanges • Staff exchange / hosting• Joint programs• Head teachers meet to sign.• An international liaison officer is assigned to work directly with us to

manage the relationship. We assign a SAM, school accounts manager that will be your direct link for support and guidance. They will be directly in contact with your Chinese partner also to provide them with support and guidance.

This is a great foundation to access many other Chinese programs, whether it be introducing Mandarin into you school, hosting intensive study camps, sending studnets on a China study and travel programs or even summer teach and travel programs. All of these programs can be accessed as a stand alone service but having a partner school creates a healthy environment with long lasting impact and benefit. We are a company that is truly multinational with Chinese English speaker and British Chinese speakers that understand the two cultures intrinsically.

Our programs are entirely designed for maximum impact, within a controlled safe but exciting environment, we provide for a number of different focused levels of engagement. Our ultimate aim is to support our schools, help them manage or totally manage their partnerships allowing your school the time and opportunity to showcase its self.

“Senior leaders at Hilbre, Mosslands and Upton hall schools , in collaboration with Access China UK have embarked upon a new international relationship with the three schools in Taicang, near Shanghai.Access China UK has provided a comprehensive range of services which have enabled partner schools from both countries to establish constructive and meaningful relationships. Their liaison with the Education Bureau and Foreign Affairs Ministry has facilitated direct access to carefully matched schools. As a result, senior leaders have been able to meet and get a powerful insight and understanding into Chinese education. Access China UK is now in the process of coordinating a reciprocal visit to the UK, which will ultimately lead to the sharing of best practice and offer our students an exciting range of international cultural experiences. We would have no hesitation to recommend Access China UK to any forward thinking establishment with an ambition to developing an international dimension to their curriculum”

Among  the  highlights  of  the  trip  –  and  there  were  many  –  was  the  opportunity  for  the  group  to  visit  five  schools  in  Taichang.    For  all  of  the  group,  the  experience  of  visi>ng  our  own  twin  school,  and  the  other  schools  as  well,  was  highly  rewarding.    These  visits  were  extremely  well  organised  and  the  warm  welcome  that  we  received  was  fantas>c.    In  addi>on  to  seeing  the  schools,  we  also  had  an  opportunity  on  some  of  the  visits  to  explore  the  area  surrounding  the  school.    This  provided  a  great  opportunity  to  see  a  school  in  its  local  context  and  to  visit  different  areas  of  Taichang.

We  would  like  to  commend  the  input  throughout  the  visit  of  Xuefeng  (Tansy)  Wang.    Tansy  was  a  real  asset  on  the  trip.    The  group  found  her  to  be  extremely  warm  and  friendly,  hardworking,  generous  with  her  >me  and  effec>ve  as  a  translator.

The  hospitality  that  we  enjoyed  throughout  the  trip  was  outstanding.    The  food  was  first  class  and  both  hotels  were  excellent.    The  transport  arrangements  were  highly  efficient.

As  a  company,  Access  China  UK  delivered  and  we  would  recommend  them  to  other  schools  and  groups.

“It has been a privilege to experience education in China first hand. The hospitality and generosity has been outstanding in all the schools visited and many thanks must be given to the Taicang Bureau, not only have I forged links with Cathcarts partner school but the way the trip has been organised has enabled us to develop relationships with other Wirral schools. Having time in Shanghai as a whole group was essential as this enabled us to become fully immersed into Chinese culture. The sharing of food throughout the trip (including one or two drinks) has allowed meaningful relationships to develop.Everyday has been AMAZING and I have so many wonderful stories to share with Cathcart Street. However the best parts for me were being with the children. I just wished that we could have spent longer engaging with them, However I know that this is just the beginning.Thank you Tom, Les and Tansy for your undivided attention and commitment to making not only this trip a huge success but also for your shared determination to continue to build successful partnerships between all our partner schools”
