doing them all - just the ones that your child is particularly interested in)? Remember to ‘chunk up’ some of the longer words to work them out.

Here’s a short video clip underwater pond life https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75FP2h8B-Og&safe=active Can you write a list of the creatures you saw (use the word mat to help you)? ACTIVITY 3 Can you make a pig? Can you label the snout, curly tail and trotters? Here are some ideas for you to choose from https://www.google.com/search?q=pig+craft+children&rlz=1C1CHBD_en-GBGB801GB801&sxsrf=ALeKk03TRVa4UJTdCYQbzf07edWAfbLBZQ:1591291726971&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiv2PrQ1-jpAhWFZMAKHYCpBG8Q_AUoAXoECA0QAw&biw=1536&bih=736

Day 3 Can they remember the name of yesterday’s story set at a pond? Say they are going to listen to another story set at a different pond called ‘The Moon in the Pond.’

The story can be listened to on the observation sent out to everyone today.

ACTIVITY 1 (Have some a variety of objects or ideas ready for this activity, plus a torch if possible) Ask your child if the moon was really in the pond. Why could they see it in the pond? Help them say the word ‘reflection’ and repeat this a few times. Give them the torch and tell them they’re going to pretend it is the moon at night (if you like you could make the room as dark as possible). Pass them different objects to shine the moon on and then sort them into reflects well/does not reflect well. Look at the photos for some ideas of objects to use - two pieces of kitchen foil would be good to use. Make sure

Go and check your answers in the story if necessary whilst answering the quiz.

one is smooth and one is a bit crumpled. When all the objects have been tested talk about them. Which ones reflected the light bestl? Which ones did not? See if they can come to any conclusions as to why.

ACTIVITY 2 What can you find out about the moon? You could make an information poster or book! Eg You could find photographs of the moon’s craters on the internet and in books. Find out why the moon seems to change shape. Perhaps you could make a moon picture? Do you have some questions you would like to research the answers to? ACTIVITY 3 Talk about tricks and practical jokes. Let children talk about their own experiences. Was Rabbit’s trick fun or unkind? Talk about the difference between having fun, and being unkind.
