Message from Sr. Francina and Her Community The Sisters of the Holy Family of Bordeaux are celebrating 200 years of our presence in different parts of the world (1820-2020). We thank God for his loving protection of our Congregation. We are celebrating this anniversary at St. Mark’s Church on Sunday, February 16, at the 11:00 o’clock Mass. Please join us for this important occasion. Following Mass, light refreshments will be served in the parish hall. A Warm Welcome to New Parishioners Welcome to those who want to make their faith-home here with us. You may be new to Aylmer, or you may have been away for a while. Be assured that we would love to have you among us! We would appreciate it if you introduced yourself to one of our hospitality ministers, or to Fr. John. It would also help if you could take the time to fill out a registration form, which you can get from a hospitality minister. The next time you are with us, you can drop off the registration form in the collection basket; give it to one of the hospitality ministers or to Fr. John. Welcome! Coffee Sundays On the first and third Sundays of each month, coffee and light snacks are served in the parish hall after the 9:00 am and 11:00 am Masses. This is a good opportunity to get to know each other better and to meet new parishioners. Please join us. Liturgy of the Word for Children during the 9:00 am and 11:00 am Masses One of the ways we help children in our parish to become active participants in the Liturgy of the Word is to celebrate it with them in the Children's Liturgy room. In that space, we do the same thing that the adults are doing – we read the readings together, reflect together on the readings, profess our faith, and raise up in prayer the needs of our world. We then come back to the church for the Eucharistic prayer. All children between the ages of 5 and 12 are welcome. Used Stamps – One Small Way to Help Those in Need If you are not already doing so, please start saving the stamps on mail you receive and bring them to the church. There are boxes for this purpose at both entrances. When you cut the stamps from the envelopes, leave a small margin around them. Every few weeks, bring in what you have saved. The stamps are sent to the Redemptorist Mission Stamp Burse in Windsor, Ontario. This organization receives used stamps from many locations and sells them by the pound to a local buyer. Within three or four months, about $1,000 is raised. The Redemptorist priests match the funds and these are sent to the Canadian Food for Children Mission Fund in Mississauga, Ontario. This is a registered charity which sends food, clothing and school supplies to developing countries around the world.
Online Option for Donations If you would like to make your donations to St. Mark’s Church online, this service is offered by the diocesan office, at no cost. On our parish website (stmarkaylmer.ca), click on the online donation icon, which can be found on each page, and follow the simple instructions, complete the required fields and submit your request. You will receive a confirmation of your transaction, and annual income tax receipts will be sent to you from the Archdiocese.

Knights of Columbus Family Dinner To help raise funds for the renovation of our parish hall kitchen, the Knights of Columbus are hosting an Italian Dinner con Amore (with love) on Saturday, February 8, at 6:00 pm. Tickets are $15 and the dinner is free for children under 10. Wine and beer will also be available for purchase. This will be a wonderful feast and, at the same time, a good fundraiser for our kitchen. If you still need tickets, call Josef Doerig at 819-561-0127 or Dorli McCrank at 819-682-3263.
