Brainstorm and write students suggestions on the blackboard. Help them with the vocabulary if necessary. Some examples: selling used things, a charity raffle, organizing a lottery and selling the tickets, selling sandwiches and drinks in the school break, organizing a party and selling tickets for it, making handcrafts and selling them, doing a show (theatre, musical). Vocabulary 1. Teach some of the words in the story which you think may be
difficult for the children. The underlined words in the story are in the glossary. Try to teach them in a context, miming the words or showing objects. Some examples: Show objects or pictures for: piggy bank, tap, Mime: trembling, sweating, proud, shy, blush, scared, suffering, clapping…
2. Whisper a word to a student and tell him to mime it in front of the
class. The others have to guess the word and say it in English. Activities with worksheets Vocabulary: glossary and worksheet 1 Structures: Worksheet 2 (Only if the students already know the past tenses). Tell them to underline the verbs and then decide if the actions refer to the present or to the past Reading comprehension: worksheets 3 and 4. Depending on the level of the students these worksheets can also be done only by listening to the story
