1 It gives me great pleasure to greet you for the first Ɵme as President of the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. When I reflect on how this organizaƟon has changed since I joined its Board of Regents, I am most proud of how much we have grown. We have experienced: Growth in the number of educaƟonal offerings and the number of OMSs who turn to us for their ongoing educaƟonal needs; Increased membership, from a shrinking organiza‐ Ɵon to one with posiƟve growth in number of Fellows and more acƟve Resident Members than every before; Expansion of our relaƟonships with other organiza‐ Ɵons serving our specialty, with leaders from AAOMS, and several other naƟonal and internaƟon‐ al organizaƟons aƩending our most recent Annual Conference; Growth in our reputaƟon which, though difficult to quanƟfy, was shared with me over‐and‐over again at our Annual MeeƟng by aƩendees and faculty alike; Greater financial stability which will allow us to be prepared for even bigger things in the coming years. I owe a sincere THANK YOU to my predecessors, parƟcularly our Immediate Past President, Chuck Hasse, for leaving me an organizaƟon on such solid fooƟng and poised for even more progress. Our 2014‐ 15 Officers and Regents are a fantasƟc team of energeƟc, forward‐thinking leaders who, along with our commiƩees of dedicated volunteers, fill me with high expectaƟons for the coming year. The unprecedented number of high‐quality educaƟonal offerings that the College presented last year will conƟnue through the 2014‐15 term. Our CommiƩee for ConƟnuing EducaƟon is already planning for at least seven in‐person educaƟonal events. More informaƟon will be coming soon about hands‐on courses focused on TMJ, Implants, and FaceliŌs, our Third Annual Resi‐ dents MeeƟng, Second Annual Ski MeeƟng, Third Annual RecerƟficaƟon Review Boot Camp, and of course our 36 th Annual ScienƟfic Conference and Exhi‐ biƟon in Fort Lauderdale.
