Slide 2: Introduction: As you begin the session, welcome everyone to the session (title) and introduce the speakers. If there is a small crowd (20 or less), have them introduce themselves: name, location, job description (try to keep to 10 minutes or less). If there is a larger group, ask them to introduce themselves at their table. Thank everyone for completing the questionnaire and tell them they can keep it for their own records. Explain that this exercise was designed to help them quiet their busy minds and to take advantage of the luxury they have today to focus on one topic—children’s social and emotional development and challenging behaviors—rather than on the myriad of other crises program leaders must deal with daily. 1
