2nd ACFI Delhi Chapter Meeting

The 2nd ACFI Delhi Chapter meeting was held on 4th September 2017 in the Conference Room, DHL Express (India) Pvt Ltd, Express Terminal, International Cargo Terminal, IGI Airport, New Delhi under the Chairmanship of Mr. Dinkar Singh, Chairman – ACFI Delhi Chapter.

Members discussed in detail the Draft Customs Brokers License Regulations (CBLR) 2017 circulated by CBEC in the public domain for suggestions/ comments of the stakeholders. In this regard ACFI Board after going through the details of this draft CBLR and recommendations proposed by the Delhi Chapter, forwarded it to the CBEC.

2nd ACFI Special Taskforce Group of Members and11th ACFI Ofce Bearers Meeting

The 2nd ACFI Special Taskforce Committee meeting as well as 11th ACFI Office Bearers meeting clubbed together was held on 13th Sep' 2017 at 3PM at Room No. 17, 2nd Floor, New Udaan Bhawan, Opposite T3, IGI Airport, New Delhi under the Chairmanship of Mr. Tushar K. Jani the President, ACFI.

Mainly the issue relating to action plan of each heads of Task Pillar with specific responsibility assigned to accomplish was discussed. Tentative dates viz 18th, 19th, 30th & 31st January, 2018 were firmed up for ACFI annual event on “Innovation and Disruption”. It was also decided to obtain appointment of Mr Amitabh Kant, CEO Niti Aayog to meet ACFI Board members in person and extend ACFI invitation to Mr Kant as Chief Guest on the proposed ACFI annual seminar.

5th ACFI Process Simplication Sub-committee meeting on Import Cargo

The 5th ACFI Process Simplification sub-committee meeting on import cargo held on 26.09.2017 in the Meeting Room, M/s. Jeena & Company, 3rd Floor, Sewa Corporate Park, MG Mall Road near IFFCO Chowk, Gurgaon No. 3, under the Chairmanship of Mr. Arun Kumar, Facilitator of the sub-committee in the absence of Mr PS Atree the Chairman of this subcommittee. Mr Cyrus Katgara Vice President ACFI was also present in the said meeting.

The important air cargo trade issues already taken up at Revenue Secretary level related to CBEC particularly the Indian Customs EDI System (ICES) related were discussed.

* Frequent slowdown and breakdown of ICES causing huge delay in the processing of EXIM cargo and business loss to the trade & airlines. Customs to have 100% backup system to ICES as well as allow manual processing during breakdown.

* Delay in the assessment of bills of entries when there are multiple items (more than 50 items) were discussed and it was decided to place the same on the PMO Portal.

Members desired that a fresh update may be sent to Revenue Secretary & Secretary Mo CA about the shortlisted 10 issues.

16th ACFI Pharma Export & Import Sub-Committee Meeting

The 16th ACFI Pharma Export & Import Sub-committee held on the 28th September 2017 in the Conference Room “Wright Brother”, Project Office, New Udaan Bhawan, Opposite Terminal - 3, IGI Airport, New Delhi under the Chairmanship of Mr. Mahesh Trikha.

The members decided to conduct Pharma Workshop in Delhi on 17th January, 2018. A Committee comprising the following members was constituted to finalize sponsors, list of shippers, list of speakers and list of Customs Brokers;-

* Mr. Mahesh Trikha* Mr. Rishi Herenz* Mr. Arvind Aggarwal

The list of invitees will be made by ACFI Secretariat. The detailed program will be discussed and decided in the next meeting on 25.10.2017 at NUB.

External Meetings attended by ACFI Members/ Secretariat

When Mr. Tushar Jani the President ACFI proposed to give farewell to Dr. Renu Singh Parmar the then Senior Adviser to Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) on her attaining superannuation from government service on 31st Aug' 2017, Dr. Parmar wished that this function may be held at the premises of “The Earth Saviours Foundation'' at Bandhwari Village, Gurgaon Faridabad Road, Gurgaon, Haryana. As per her wish the following ACFI Governing Board members along with other invitees assembled at the Earth Saviours Foundation at 10AM on 9th Sep'2017.

Mr. KS Kunwar, Director General ACFI attended Interactive Session with NITI Aayog's “Champions of Change” held on 25th September, 2017 at Federation House, Tansen Marg, New Delhi on the theme of “Shaping Future Businesses for Transforming India”.

“Champions of Change” is an initiative by NITI Aayog, wherein Shri Narendra Modi, Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, had invited over 150 highly motivated, dynamic, young and progressive entrepreneurs from private sector across the country with the idea to incorporate fresh and innovative thinking into policy making.

The ACFI members along with Dr. Renu Singh Parmar and her brother were welcomed by Mr. Ravi Kalra the Founder & President of “The Earth Saviours Foundation” and his team members. Mr. Kalra is known as the Karma Yogi and the recipient of Sardar Ballabhbhai Patel International prestigious award, gave a brief introduction of “The Earth Saviours Foundation (TESF)” stating that TESF an NGO was founded in 2008 by him and the Foundation is dedicated to serve less privileged people and is making every possible effort to protect the environment. The Earth Saviours Foundation is registered under 80G of Income Tax Exemption Act and FCRA license from The Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. He said that the TESF is an internationally recognized NGO with a selfless, dedicated, committed, vigilant staff and volunteers working day and night for mainly the community welfare of destitute.

Some of the ongoing missions of the TESF are:

* Old age home to look after homeless - abandoned senior citizens.* Rescue centre to look after mentally disabled people.* “Do Not Honk” campaign to reduce noise pollution by educating drivers not to honk

unnecessarily while driving.* Jia Nari Niketan shelter to look after deprived females.* Battle to save environment and its habitats.

Mr. Kalra took the ACFI members along with Dr. Parmar to the premises of the foundation, living places and the kitchen when the members had close interactions with the destitute, inmates of the foundation. All the members were impressed so deeply and touched upon the selfless dedication of Mr. Kalra and his team of volunteers in the service of humanity nowhere could be seen.

Members thanked Mr. Kalra for dedicating his whole life for the welfare of the destitute who either have been discarded by their own near & dear ones or have no one to look after them at the end of their life and an envelope containing voluntary monitory contributions made by ACFI members present was handed over to Mr. Kalra through Dr. Renu Singh Parmar as a small contribution for the welfare of the destitute living in the foundation premises.

As a token of appreciation from the Earth Saviours Foundation (TESF) Mr. Kalra presented memento to each ACFI member and Dr. Renu Parmar on this occasion.

Around 1 PM all the ACFI Members attended the farewell party lunch hosted by Mr. Tushar Jani the President ACFI at the restaurant of Hotel Oberoi, Gurgaon and a Memento was presented to Dr. Renu Singh Parmar on her superannuation and in appreciation to her outstanding contributions to air cargo trade & industry during her tenure as Senior Adviser, MoCA which will be remembered always by the entire air cargo trade & industry. Dr. Parmar also thanked the ACFI members and the entire air cargo trade & industry for their support in her endeavors and the farewell party at the “The Earth Saviors Foundation”.
