Below is a sampling of where some of our graduates work now.

Master of Accountancy at a Glance

Program Curriculum: A 9-36 month, full or part-time, 40-68 credit program with three components: Accounting Core (16 credits), Electives (24 credits) and Foundation Courses (28 credits). Foundation requirements are waived for students who hold an AACSB accredited degree with a B- or better in all foundation classes. Requirement can also be met by passing the competency exams offered on-campus.

GMAT/GRE: Waived for students who meet one of the four conditions:

1. Hold a graduate degree from a regionally accredited school OR

2. Have passed four parts of the CPA exam OR

3. Hold a bachelor degree in accounting (or business with a major in accounting) from an AACSB-accredited university and a GPA of at least 3.25 overall and a GPA of 3.0 in undergraduate accounting coursework.

4. Start as a Graduate Business Certificate student and obtain a 3.7 GPA in the first 8 credit hours of accounting classes.

Note: International students must also have a minimum TOEFL of 95.

Program Start Dates: September and March

Tuition: $1,258 per credit hour plus program fees*

Financial Aid: Government student loans, private loans and GI benefits available. Some merit and need-based scholarships awarded by Daniels College of Business. Additional funding available from the School of Accountancy.

Application Deadlines: Four rounds of admission deadlines for fall entry and three rounds for spring entry.

Fall Spring November 15 October 1 January 15 December 1 March 15 February 1 May 15

Undergraduate Accounting Degree

The degree plan for students who hold a degree in accounting from an AACSB accredited school usually consists of ten courses, of which six are electives, allowing you to dig deeper into areas that interest you.

No Business Degree, No Problem

An undergraduate degree in accounting or business is not necessary for admission to the MAcc. However, students without this degree must either demonstrate competency in key areas or complete up to seven foundation courses. On campus waiver exams are provided for six of the foundation courses.

Students electing to take the foundation courses will complete a 68-hour degree plan with three components: Accounting Skills (24 credits), Electives (16 credits) and Foundation Courses (28 credits).

You’ll learn to manage the numbers, but you’ll never be just a number.

The Customization: You will build a degree plan with a faculty advisor to reach your goal of obtaining either broad-based knowledge or specialization in an area of particular interest. We offer tracks in assurance, taxation, information technology and business valuation.

The Faculty: Our faculty-to-student ratio is 1:18 and personalized attention is never in short supply. Our distinguished faculty and staff are experts in the field and are prepared to help you in any way possible, be it through academic advising, career counseling or networking opportunities.

The Flexibility: Come from an accounting or business background? Great. You’ll be ready to hit the ground running. Have a non-business bachelor’s degree? Not a problem. We welcome your diverse perspective and we’ll get you on the right track starting with our focused preparatory coursework.
