What we offer

• The University owns or manages accommodation for over 1,800 students at

eight sites across the city

• Students from outside Birmingham who make us their first choice and apply

by the deadline are guaranteed a place in halls for their first year of study

• All halls have CCTV and 24-hour security patrols

• Student Assistants provide support and staff are available during office hours

• Public transport runs between halls and all University sites

• Adapted accommodation for those with special needs

• Prices include energy bills and basic internet package

Costs and facilities

Oscott Gardens£112-£128pw (2012/13)419 en suite rooms in the form of self-catering flats with five to eight bedrooms and a shared kitchen and lounge. Other facilities:> Laundrette> Bicycle racks> Limited on-site car parking> Secure entry system to each block.

The Coppice£96.50pw (2012/13)Home to 432 students, with its rooms organised into six-bedroom flats with a shared kitchen, dining room and two bathrooms. Other facilities:> Laundrette> Bicycle racks> Limited on-site car parking> Secure entry system to each block.

Hamstead Campus£95pw (2012/13)Rooms for 54 students within 16 acres of grounds. Each room has a hand basin and there is a shared kitchen,bathroom and dining area.Other facilities:> Laundrette> Badminton and table tennis rooms> TV room and bar> Chapel

University-leased houses on Oscott Road and Wellhead Lane (City North Campus)

£86.50-£98pw (2012/2013)There are 29 University-leased houses on Oscott Road and three on Wellhead Lane. The houses have two to four bedrooms:Other facilities:> Living room> Bathroom> Kitchen> Washing machineLocation: Oscott Road is situated off Wellhead Lane, which is directly opposite the City North Campus.

What else?

• Once you have accepted your room offer ensure you complete the online induction as it provides lots of useful information and advice for living in halls

• All halls are non-smoking

• Bring your own bedding, towels, crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils

• If you bring a TV you will need a licence

• Upgraded internet services are available

• Large electrical appliances (fridge, freezer, heater) and candles are not permitted

• City North Campus - car parking is limited and applications can be made from 15 September

• Overnight visitors are permitted if pre-booked

How to Apply

• You can apply as soon as you firmly accept a course

offer using our online application form

• You will receive unique application reference number

which you should use in all correspondence with us

• Allocation of rooms begins early July for students

with unconditional course offer

• Allocation for students with conditional offers will

begin once exam results are known

• Accommodation not guaranteed for

insurance/clearing applicants but we will endeavour

to offer you a place
