    If you have accepted a job over the phone, it's agood idea to write a job acceptance letter toconfirm the details of employment and to formallyaccept the job offer.

    Your letter can be brief, but, should include thefollowing:

    I. Thanks and appreciation for the opportunity

    II. Written acceptance of the job offer

    III. The terms and conditions of employment (salary,benefits)

    IV. Starting date of employment

    Address the letter to the person who offeredyou the position. Include your contactinformation and phone number, even though it

    is on file with the employer. Make sure that your letter is well written and

    does not contain typos or grammatical errors.

    There is more than one kind of acceptance letter,like :

    (i) a job acceptance letter,

    (ii) a college acceptance letter,(iii) an offer acceptance letter,

    (iv) an acceptance of agreement letter, and

    (v) an acceptance of resignation letter.

    For every kind of acceptance letter, you can writea better one by following the tips on this page andby looking at the sample example letter thatfollows.

    1. If you are accepting a job, appointment, promotion,gift etc., be polite.

    2. If you are accepting an invitation to a social event,thank the organizer for the invitation and tell abouthow you expect that the event will be successful. If youneed to clarify any details about time, location, etc., dothat in the acceptance letter.

    3. If you are accepting a resignation, stay positive in yourtone. Don't say something that could make you liablefor legal action.

    4. Start your letter by thanking the organization, business,person, etc.

    5. In a few words, identify what it is you are accepting.

    When writing a resignation letter, it'simportant to keep your resignation letter assimple, brief, and focused as possible. It should

    also be positive. Once you have made the decision to move on,

    there's no point in criticizing your employer oryour job. Your letter of resignation shouldinclude information on when you are leaving.You can also let the employer know youappreciate your time with the company.

    Place your name, mailing address, e-mailaddress, and phone number in the upper lefthand corner of the paper. Double space down.

    Type or write the date, i.e.; June 01, 2008.Double space down.

    Write the name and complete mailing address

    of the company from which you are resigning.Double space down.

    Write the salutation: Direct the letter to yourimmediate supervisor; Dear Mr. or Ms.

    The first paragraph should thank thecompany for the learning experience, and stateclearly that this is your notice of resignation.

    Always state the length of time you plan toallow (one week or two) before you leave.Something like this;

    In the next step, add a paragraph of 'cush', thank thecompany and express your appreciation for all they'vedone for you. You need not offer a reason for leaving,

    but you can let them know that you are interested insecuring your future. Maybe something like;

    This was not an easy decision for me to make. The past5 years have been very rewarding. My employment

    here has allowed me to learn all facets of the printingindustry, and has made me very confident in my skills.I've enjoyed working for you, and will leave withmany happy memories. However, I have accepted aposition as an office manager with another company. Itis because of my experience here that I feel I'm well

    You may want to wish the company and yoursupervisor the best. It's okay for it to stand aloneand it seems more heartfelt. Maybe some thinglike;

    I wish you and (company name) all the best.

    In closing it is standard practice to double spacedown and add, "Sincerely" Then space down four

    times. Type your full name. Print the letter and use an

    inkpen to sign your full name between 'Sincerely'and your typed name.
