ACCA syllabus

The ACCA element of this dual programme helps you develop in-depth accounting and finance skills, and your studies will progress according to the ACCA syllabus. The details of each individual paper can be viewed below:

for exemptions** from certain modules within the Global MBA (Financial Management) or MA in Finance and Investment syllabus. The modules studied during the second stage of the course will differ depending on whether you decide to study the Global MBA (Financial Management) or MA in Finance and Investment. Please see the standard syllabus of each course below.

Global MBA (Financial Management) - syllabus

The Global MBA (Financial Management) syllabus commences with 4 core modules followed by 2 specialist modules. The final stage concludes with a research project which forms part of your dissertation.

4 core modules:Marketing and Business Environment Accounting and Managerial Finance Systems and Operations Management Strategic Management and Leadership

2 specialist modules:Advanced Corporate Reporting Performance Management and Control Final research project:Integrative Research and Consultancy Project

MA in Finance and Investment - syllabus

The MA in Finance and Investment syllabus is comprised of 3 core modules, after which you may choose 3 elective modules. The course concludes with the final research and consultancy project.

Core modules:Business and Financial Analysis Quantitative Methods and Financial Markets Corporate Finance

Choose any 3 of the following elective modules:Corporate Governance and Ethics Advanced Corporate Reporting Performance Management and Control Equity and Fixed Income Investments Derivatives and Alternative Investments M&A and Private Equity Money and Foreign Exchange Markets International Retail Banking Financial Risk Management Fundamentals of Islamic Finance Islamic Banking Operations Islamic Portfolio Management

Entry requirements

In order to be eligible for the programme you have to register for exams in your chosen subjects with ACCA before starting your course. You must also make sure you meet all ACCA entry requirements. Depending on the qualifications you already possess, various ACCA entry routes may be available to you:

Once you have completed your ACCA qualification you can begin studies for the Global MBA (Financial Management) or MA in Finance and Investment. You will enjoy exemptions from certain modules depending which programme you choose to study*. A maximum of 3 exemptions are possible.

Current qualifications

ACCA entry route

No qualifications Student first needs to complete the final level of the AAT or FIA qualification.

2 A-levels and 3 GCSEs in 5 separate subjects, including English and Maths

Apply for the ACCA Knowledge modules

A non-relevant degree or other Apply for the ACCA Knowledge modules

Relevant degrees Relevant degrees at ACCA-accredited institutions may be exempted from all Fundamentals (ACCA Knowledge and Skills modules) and some ACCA Professional modules. It is recommended that students enquire/apply for exemptions when they register with ACCA as an exam student.

AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians)/CAT (Certified Accounting Technician) qualified

Apply for the ACCA Skills module (with exemptions from the Knowledge modules).
