• To make questions, we often change the word order of the sentence like this:

Present Simple and Past Simple tenses, we use “do / does / did + subject + infinitive”E.g. Do you like jazz music? Does Peter play the guitar? Did you go to the concert?

The Present Simple and The Past Simple using a “Wh –”/ “How” + adverb: “Wh – / How + do / does / did + subject + infinitive” E.g. Why do you listen to music?

Sentences that use auxiliary verbs or modal verbs like “can, would, have, be, should,” etc.: “auxiliary verb + subject + infinitive”E.g. Can you hear the music?

Are you a violin player?

When the main verb of the sentence is the verb “to be”, we use this word order: “Wh – / How + to be + subject” E.g. Where is the concert hall?

What is his name?
