Professor Bosna’s Paper on “Centrality of language in the
intercultural integration process” included in the prestigious
Central and Eastern European Online Library (CEEOL)
Professor Carlo Bosna, Researcher at Guglielmo Marconi
University, published a paper on “Redefining Community in
Intercultural Context (RCIC)” which was included in the prestigious
Central and Eastern European Online Library (CEEOL) at Frankfurt.
CEEOL is the leading provider of academic e-journals and e-books on
Humanities and Social Sciences in the Central and Eastern Europe. In
Professor Bosna’s view, the language can undoubtedly be considered
a “cultural universe” in the sense that it is a crucial element of
the culture of each known society. Its universality and its nature
is radically different if compared with any other type of
communication between the animals and, according to the
anthropologists, the very use of language is one of the key
features that differentiate humans from other living beings. The
American linguist and anthropologist Edward Sapir defined the
nature of language in this way: “The language is a purely human and
non-instinctive method of communicating ideas, emotions and desires
through a system of voluntarily produced symbols.” As the
individual dignity derives from the dignity of the community, of
the group and its culture, the language seems to reflect, at least
conceptually, the contribution to the individual, to be part of
that community, identity and individuality itself.

Free webinar: International student trends and strategies
We would like to suggest a very intersting opportunity.
University World News and DrEducation will organise a Global
Webinar Series on international higher education. They will present
their fourth webinar on international student mobility trends and
recruitment strategies titled “Are universities shifting
international student recruitment strategies?” The political and
economic changes of the past year will have far-reaching impact on
the future mobility patterns of students. The combination of
changes in the leading source and destination countries indicates
that institutions must brace themselves for a new environment of
uncertainty, hyper-competition, and turbulence. This global online
discussion (webinar) will bring together a panel of global experts
to examine how they are adapting institutional strategies in a new
environment. What are the strategic options institutions are
considering in response to this turbulence? The discussion will
highlight diverse perspectives to inform international enrolment
strategies.
