Preface
The annual Academic and Administrative Audit by the Internal Quality
Assurance Cell was conducted from 11 June 2018 to 13 June 2018. A core
committee in this regard was constituted by the Principal for the academic
audit and for the checking the quality and transparency of documentation.
The core committee comprised of Dr. Azeez K, Principal & Chairman -
IQAC as chairman, Mr. Nissamuddeen Kunnath, IQAC coordinator as
member secretary and Mr. Shibinu S, Head, Dept. of Economics & Member
IQAC and Dr. Mujeeb Rahman PP, Head, Dept. of Zoology as members.
The committee visited all the departments and conducted a critical
evaluation of documentation system in the department. They have also
assessed the quality initiatives of the departments for the year 2020-21. The
contribution of each department towards various aspects of quality
enhancement of the institution was also analyzed. The committee has given
a detailed report about the documentation system and the performance of
the departments. They have given recommendations for the improvement
of quality of the departments. Based on the assessment, awards were also
recommended for the performance of the departments.
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell is thankful to the committee members
for their valuable effort in completing the academic auditing. We are also
thankful to all the faculty members who were very much sincere and
dedicated to service of the institution.

Staff and Students
The college has 64 permanent and 20 guest lecturers as the teaching faculty, and 22 permanent
officers as non-teaching staff. The total strength of students is 1650, including 32 research
scholars.
Recruitment

at the Universities of Kannur and Calicut respectively. Dr. Shabna R, Asst. Prof of Physics
and Mrs. Bushra Beevi Asst. Prof. of Mathematics, are also relieved of duties from the College
to Join TKM College, Kollam and Govt. Brennan College, Thalassery respectively.
Retirement
Prof. K.M Ahamed Kutty, Associate Professor and Head, Dept. of Statistics, Dr. O.P.
Mayankutty and Dr. Vasu Thillery Associate Professors in the Dept. of History, have retired
from service in this academic year.
PhD Awarded
The Doctorate degree was awarded to 3 members of various faculties; Dr. Haris K, Asst.
Prof. of English, Dr. Nissar P, Asst. Prof. of Commerce, and Dr. Shibinu, Asst. Prof. & Head,

members of faculty of English on 26th Aug 2017, a Workshop for College Teachers
on Teaching Theory and Grammar by Dr. K.K. Kunhammed, the Head of the Dept.
of English, Kannur University on 09thSep’17, and an Invited Talk on “ D.H.
Lawrence”, by Dr Asha Muhammed, Former Head of the Dept of English, Farook
College on 19th Oct 2017.
The Dept of History organised 4 International programmes during this academic
year which are well appreciated by the chief guests and participants. First one was a
Two Day International Workshop on Regimes and Regions of Historical Writings
in India in collaboration with Kerala State Higher Education Council and Kerala
History Congress on 12th and 13th December 2017, with Prof. Daud Ali, University of
Pennisylvania, as the chief discussant. The second one was a One Day International
Seminar on the topic Tunes and Times: Musical Voyages Across the Indian Ocean.
Prof. by the resource persons Amy Cathlin – Jairazbhoy, Professor of
Ethnomusicology, University of California and Neelima Jayachandran, PhD Fellow,
Africana Research Centre, Pennisylvania State University. Prof Lauren Minsky, Prof.
Eric Staples and Graduate Students of University of New York Abudhabi, came to the
Dept of History for a two day scholarly interaction as part of their course work on Sea
and Science on 13th and 14th January 2018. A One Day International Seminar was
also arranged on the topic Food, Memory and Ethnicity on 22nd February 2018, in which
Prof. Fabio Parasecoli, Dept of Nutrition and Food Studies, New York University, USA
delivered the keynote address.
The different programmes conducted by The Department of Physics during this
academic year are Regional Seminars on “Organic Solar Cell and Green Energy”, in
which Dr. Shafakath Karuthedath, the PDF scholar at King Saud University, Kingdom
of Saudi Arabia served as the resource person on 13th Sep17, and “Gravitational Waves’
handled by Mr. Fazlu Rahman PP a former student of the Dept. of Physics, PSMOC, who
qualified the CSIR-NET while doing his PG at CUSAT,on 4th Jan’18and the Invited
Lectures on ‘Super Hydrophobic Materials’ by Dr. Renuka NK, Asso. Professor of
Chemistry, University of Calicut, on 5th March ‘18 as part of the Celebration of the
National Science Day, ‘Scientific Temper’ by Prof. P Papputty, a renowned science
writer, as part of the Association Inauguration Programme of the Dept. of Physics on 5th
March’18. In collaboration with The Dept. of Physics of Sullamussalam Arts & Science
college, Areacode, a Lecture Series was also commenced for the students of both the
institutions to enrich the Basics and Fundamentals of Physics among. The first lecture of
the series was conducted as a residential Science camp under the title “Nurture
Programme Series: Workshop 1: Applications of Mathematics in Physics’ on 2nd & 3rd
Dec 2017 at Sullamussalam Arts &Science college.

The Department of Malayalam arranged Commemoration Lecture Series on the
famous figures like Vaikkam Muhammed Basheer on 04th July 2017 (Mr. Kodambiye
Rahman deliverd the keynote address on the title (Viswa Vikhyathanaya Basheer),the
great musician M.S.Baburaj on 05th Oct’17 (the singer, Mr. Shanavaz Malappuram
presented a fusion of narration and speech), and Late Punathil Kunhabdulla on 30th
Oct’17 (Mr. Jineesh, Dept. of History, Govt. College, Madappally delivered the
lecture). It also conducted a talk on the topic From Postcolonial Studies to Decolonial
Studies by Mr. K. Ashraf, Research fellow at Johanas University, South Africa on 14th
July 17 in collaboration with the Departments of English and History.
The Department of Economics organized C.H Ibrahim Haji Memorial Inter
collegiate Paper Presentation Competition on 17th August 2017 in which the First
prize and rolling trophy was bagged by St. Marries College, Trissur, second prize went
to MES College Mampad and third prize secured by Govt. College Meenchanda. The
Department also initiated the release of an Annual Magazine “ Artha-6”,(a venture
exclusively of the students of the Department) on 27th Feb 2018 which was inaugurated
by Jb. MK Bava Sahib, the Hon. Chairman, PSMO College Managing Committee.
The Dept of Arabic conducted two Frontier Lectures, one on 12th June 2017 by Dr.
P.K. Abdul Razak Sullami and the Second by Dr. Zubair Chekanoor, Chairman, Islamic
chair, M.G. University on 19th June 2017.
The Department of Chemistry arranged a talk by Dr.T.V.Sajeev, Scientist, Kerala
Forest Research Institute, Peechi on 15th Sep.2017 in connection with International
Ozone day celebrations under the auspices of Energy and Environment Conservation
Club. It also conducted Invited Lectures on the topics “Biofuel Cells” by Dr. Shafeer
Kalathil, Marie Curie Fellow, Cambridge University, UK. on 19th July 2017, and “
Discovery of medicines-: Mordern understanding of chemistry and traditional
approaches” by Shamseer. K.K, Senior Research Fellow, Delhi University on 15th Jan
2018.
The Department of Zoology organized a one day International Symposium on
“Trends in Zoological Research” on 14th March 2018. Prof. Gilberto Jose de Moraes,
Sao Polo University of Brazil delivered the key note address. It also celebrated the
World Wetlands Day and organised a photo exhibition in collaboration with Mr.
Vijesh Vallikkunnu, a Freelance Photographer on 6th February 2018.
An awareness program about the conservation of Mangroove Ecosystem was also arranged
in which Mr. Sajeed Naduthody exhibited a documentary entitled Nature’s Hardy Foot
Soldiers.
The Department of Physical Education organized the Calicut University
Intercollegiate Inter zone (Men and Women) Power lifting championship in our
College.
The contributions of the statutory and non-statutory clubs of the college in the field of
cultural, curricular and co-curricular activities are also praiseworthy. The different
activities conducted by the College Civil Service Academy, Nature club, Student
Initiative in Palliative, Women cell and Fine Arts Samithi under the co-ordinance of
Mr. Noushad Chengodan, Dr. Ahammed Shareef PA, Mr. Munavvir Azeem, Mrs.

Shareefa Beegum, and Mr. Ajmal MP respectively were also noteworthy and much
appreciated.

● Dr. P.P. Abdul Razack, HoD of History was nominated as the Chairman, UG Board of
Studies in History, University of Calicut, and also a Member, Board of Studies, Farook
College, Christ College, Irinjalakkuda and Maharajas College Eranakulam. (Autonomous
Colleges). Dr.O.P Mayankutty, Associate Professor of History, Mr. Abdul Majeed KM ,
Asso. Professor and Head of the Dept.of Physics, Mr. Mustafa K, Head of the Dept. of
Commerce and Centre of Research, and Dr. Shibinu, Head of the Dept of Economics, are
all acting Members of PG Board of Studies in the Departments concerned in the University
of Calicut. Dr. Shibinu also acts as a Member-Faculty of Dept. of Social Science, University
of Calicut. Dr. Mustafaanand P.H, Asst. Prof of Botony, Ms. Shadiya Nuwair N.A.M,
Asst. Prof of Hindi and Miss. Saleena M, Assistant Professor of History are the members of
U.G. Board of studies in the departments concerned in the University of Calicut.
Publication of Research Papers
Dr. Azeez K, the Principal, published 2 research papers in well reputed International
journals.
Ms. Shamna R, Asst Prof. of English, published 3 research papers in well reputed
International Journals. Dr. Shafeekh KM, Asst Prof. of Chemistry (2 papers), Dr.
Mohd Shareef KP, and Dr. Ahammed Shareef, PA. the Assistant Professors of
Zoology, also got their papers published (one each) in reputed journals.
The Department of Commerce has the credit of total 10 research papers being published
in this academic year in various reputed journals by its members namely Mr. Mustafa
K, HoD, Mrs. Noora Mohd. Kutty, Mr. Abdul Naser V. and Naseema CM (2 each),
and Mrs. Saleena T.A and Suhaila V. (one each).
Publication of Books and Chapters in Books
Dr. OP Mayankutty, Associate Professor, Dept of History has edited the book entitled
“Identity Popular Culture and Resistance – Studies on Colonial Malabar”, Published by Other
Books. Mr. Noushad Chengodan, Asst. Prof. of Economics has published a book entitled
“Indian Economy” by Malayala Manorama as the Publisher. He also has a chapter entitled
“Economic Policy Initiatives: Trends and Prospects” in the Mathrubhumi Year Book Plus 2018
– ISBN No. 978-81-8267-360-1

Ms Shamna R. presented the paper entitled “The Philosophy of Becoming: Australian Aboriginal

organised by the PG Dept. of English, PSMOC on 26th March 2018. Dr. Shibinu S presented a topic
titled “Theoretical and Practical Implications of GST: A Kerala Case” in the UGC-National

Economics, E.K. Nayanar Memorial Govt. College, Elerithattu, Kasargod, Kerala on 13th
October, 2017. Dr. PP Abdul Razack, presented a paper on From Tajmahal to Tejomahalaya
at the National seminar on 28th November 2017, at Govt. College Chittur, Palakkad. Dr. OP
Mayankutty, presented a paper on History of Black pepper: Mapping the trajectories of
Pepper trade in Malabar in the MESMAC International Conference organized by MES
Mampad College on 9th -11th January 2018 and also anothee paper on Collective Attitude
towards Death: A Historical Overview in the 39th Annual Session of South Indian History
Congress held at University of Calicut on 28th-30th January2018.
Ms Noora Mohamed Kutty, presented papers on “IT integrated governance in resorts”, in
the two day International conference on Corporate governance and emerging trends, organised
by DCMS, University of Calicut in association with ISDC London on 7th and 8th June 2017,
“Banking on the Cloud” in the Two day National Seminar on Financial Services - Promises &

Resource Persons
Mr. Noushad Chengodan, Asst Prof. of Economics, acted as resource persons in an orientation
program on “Gearing Up For Civil Services” for degree students on 22nd June, 2017 under the
aegis of Career Guidance Cell of MES Kalladi College, Mannarkkad, Palakkad. He delivered

Mr. Abdul Salam C, Asst Prof of English gave a talk on Prosody to PG students of Farook College
on 03 November 2017, and delivered an invited lecture on “Approaching Poetry: Language and Theory”
at MAMO College Manassery on 07 March 2018.
Dr. PP Abdul Razack, Associate Professor and Head, Dept. of History, acted as resource

Dr Aneesh .M.H, Associate. Prof. and Head, Dept. of Chemistry made an invited talk on
03.02.2018 at Zamorins Guruvayurappan College, Kozhikode on the topic “The birth of a
fundamental constant”. Dr Prajitha Kumari, Asst. Prof. of Chemistry delivered an Invited
lecture at N.S.S College Manjeri on the topic “Catalysis”. Dr. Basheer .M.C, Asst. Prof. of
Chemistry delivered an invited talk as part of orientation for M.Sc Chemistry students conducted
by IQAC at Kannur University on 11th August 2017. Mr Subair Kuniyil, Asst. Prof of
Mathematics delivered a talk on "Semi-Group Theory" on 02/02/2018 at Majlis Arts and Science
College, Puramannur.

Mr. Abdul Samad K, Assist. Prof. of English, Ms. Noora Mohamed Kutty, Asst Prof. of
Commerce, Ms. Najiya Mariyam KM and Mr. Nissamuddeen Kunnath, Assistant Professors
from the Dept of Physics, Dr. Mustafaanand P.H. Asst Prof. & HOD of Botany and Mr. Subair
.P Asst Prof. of Arabic attended the Refresher Courses in various Universities during this
academic year. Mrs. Saleena TA, Asst Prof. of Commerce, Dr. Mujeeb Rahman P, Asst Prof. &
HOD of Zoology and Mrs. Jaseela M.P. Asst. Prof of Botany attended the Orientation course
during this academic year.
Other Meritorious Achievements of Teachers and the Departments:
Dr. Sreesha CH, Asst. Prof of Commerce has been recognized as Research guide in the
Discipline of Commerce by the University of Calicut. The Department of Chemistry has got
a grant of Rs. 15000/- from KSCSTE for organizing a one day programme in connection with
National Science Day. The Department of Zoology has received a financial assistance of Rs.
20000/- from Kerala State Council for Science, Technology & Environment (KSCSTE) in
connection with the World Wetlands day celebration. The College staff shuttle badminton
team has won second runner up trophy in men section, second and third position in women
section in the DR. Shoukathali Memorial University Level Shuttle Badminton Championship held at
KAHM Unity Women’s College Manjeri.
Major Achievements of Students:
A great achievement of the college during this academic year is that of the awarding of
Doctorate degree to 3 Research scholars the from Department of Commerce and Centre
of Research. 3 more researchers of the same Department have submitted their thesis.
Besides this, 2 PG students have qualified JRF and 8 qualified NET in the last UGC
NET Examination.
From the Department of Chemistry 4 students qualified NET/JRF examinations during
this year. Two students of first semester M.Sc chemistry, Ms. Seniya. P and Sulfana
Thasni.T.P are selected as summer research fellows by JNCASR, Bangalore. The
project proposals of four fourth semester B.Sc Chemistry students (Liyana.P, Fathima
Booshiya, Rasheeda. K and Hamda. M) are approved under the SPYTiS-I scheme of
KSCSTE.

Musfira Mohammed Basheer and Sreeshma K.P of last year B.Sc Botany batch secured
II and IV positions in the University examinations held during March- April 2017.
Tennis (Men and women) team has won the Championship in the Malappuram District
Tennis Championship; Tennis (Men), and Tennis (Women) teams have won the
Runners trophy, and the Second Runners trophy respectively in the Calicut University
Tennis Championship held at Govt. KKTM College, Pullut, Trichur. Women Football
team has won the second runners trophy in the Calicut university women football
championship held at Carmel College Mala, Trichur. Men athletic team has won the
runners trophy in the Malappuram district under 20 athletic championship held at
Calicut university stadium. Volleyball (Men) team has won the Runner up trophy in the
Calicut university B zone Volleyball Championship held at PMST college, Kundoor,
and Softball (Men) team has won the Runner up trophy in the Malappuram District

Mr. Said Shihabudheen II MA (History) won the gold medal in the Asian ,All India,
Kerala state and Calicut University Power Lifting Championship in Heavy Weight
Category and also won Gold Medal in the Calicut University Athletic Meet in Shot
put. In this academic year he represented India, Kerala and Calicut university power
lifting team.
Nashitha Baby of 1st BSc Chemistry and Devakikutty of l BSc Physics won Bronze
medals in the Calicut University Taekwondo Championship held at MD College,
Pazhani, in under 73 category and under 52 Kg category respectively. Ajmal K P, II
BA English, and Noufal Nabeel, II BA Economics, won silver medal in Kerala state

National Service Scheme (Unit No. 26 & 74)
The NSS Units of PSMO College have conducted innumerable innovative programmes during
the year 2017-18 under the leadership of the programme officers, Dr. Roopesh N. Asst. Prof of
Mathematics and Mr. Kabeerali P, Asst. Prof. of English. The NSS volunteers planted 50 tree
saplings in the campus and conducted an oath taking to protect nature and environment as part
of the World Environment Day Celebration on 05th June 2017. The programme was
inaugurated by college Principal Dr. K Azeez. An awareness Class on Monsoon Induced
Diseases was arranged on 08th June 2017, in which Mr. Mujeeb Rahman, Junior Health Inspector,
Tirurangadi PHC, handled the class, and on the following day a Health Survey and an
awareness Campaign against Monsoon Diseases was conducted among 400 families in the
nearby areas of the college. The data collected through the survey was handed over to the
authorities of Public Health Center for further proceedings.
As part of the Anti- Child Labor Day Observation, on 12th June 17, the NSS Volunteers
organized a Signature Campaign at Kakkad against Child Labor in the Forenoon and a seminar
at College Seminar Hall in the Afternoon on Child Rights. KT Raheeda, Municipal

Chairperson, Tirurangadi Municipality inaugurated the event and Mr. Saleem from
Malappuram Childline, delivered the keynote address. The International Yoga Day was
observed in the campus by NSS unit in association with the Physical Education Department on
21st June 17, under the guidance and instructions of Dr. Saifudheen, H.O.D of Physical
Education, PSMO College, and the Yoga instructor Mrs. Sindhu. College Principal Dr. K
Azeez inaugurated the function. The unit also arranged a cleaning programme (Observation
of Sanitary Drive Programme) inside and outside the college campus following the
instructions from Thirurangadi Municipality on 29th June 17. In association with Vimukthi
(State Mission for De-Addiction) different competitions (Vimukthi Competitions) were
conducted in the campus for students on the focal theme “The Dangers of Drug Abuse” on 03rd
July 17.
An Urban Level Training on Disaster Management was arranged for students and public in
collaboration with the Disaster Management Authority and Tirurangadi Municipality, in the
college auditorium on 13th July 2017. In the function, inaugurated by college Principal Dr. K
Azeez, and presided over by the Tahsildar of Tirurangadi Mr. Gopalakrishnan, the Disaster
management trainers Mr. Sudheesh Kumar, Mr. Rajeev and Mr. Shamsudheen handled the
sessions. Municipal Counselor Thadathil Noufal felicitated the gathering. A Swatch Bharath
Oath Taking was conducted in the college campus on the forenoon of 1st August 2017, as per
the instructions from central Govt. NSS volunteer Assain Azad prepared the oath and all the
volunteers actively participated in it. A Swatch Bharath Cleaning Programme was also
conducted in the college campus in relation to it on 5th Aug 17.
The various other praiseworthy activities conducted by the NSS Units of PSMO College are
Anti- Nuclear Day Observation on 7th Aug 17,a Swatchatha Rally on 14th Aug 17, Clean
Campus Declaration on 15th Aug 17 in which the Principal Dr. K Azeez declared PSMO
Campus as a Green and Clean Campus, a Training Programme on Environmental Issues of
Malappuram inaugurated and handled by the world famous Environmental Activist Dr.
Madhav Gadgil on 18th Aug 17, World Ozone Day Celebration inaugurated by Dr. Sajeev,
Scientist, KFRI, Peechi, on 15th Sept17, SC/ST Life Status Survey on 23rd Sep 17, Kadalundi
Railway Station Cleaning, Kadalundi Community Reserve Cleaning and a Bio-Diversity
Study Programme in association with the Dept. of Environment and Climate Change on 24th
Sept 17, Bio-Diversity Seminar on the topic ‘The Conservation Significance of Mangrove
Bio-Diversity’, Energy Conservation Seminar on the topic ‘Domestic Energy Conservation:
Ways and Means’, and a Thematic Exhibition (inaugurated by Dr. Jafar Palottil, Scientist,
KFRI, Kozhikode) with the focal theme ‘Waste Management and Energy Conservation’ in
collaboration with Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE)
on 28th Sept17. A Wildlife Photography Exhibition was conducted in the college campus as
part of Wildlife Week Celebration in association with the Dept. of Environment and Climate
Change on 04th Oct 17 was another noteworthy activity of the College NSS Unit. The wildlife
photographs captured by Mr. Kabeerali P, Asst. Prof of English, PSMO College, were
displayed in the exhibition. A Nature Education Camp was held at at Peechi-Vazhani WLS,
in association with the Forest and Wildlife Department on 6, 7 & 8th Oct 17. Other related
activities include Urjothsav conducted on 21st Oct 17in collaboration with State Energy
Management Centre and Friends of Nature where more than 1500 students from different

schools participated, Institutional Planting (inaugurated by PSMO College Manager MK.
Abdurahiman) on 26th Oct 17, Rashtriya Ekta Divas Observation on 31st October 2017,
Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Week Celebration in support of the Vigilance and Anti-
Corruption Bureau, Malappuram on 1st Nov 17, Nature Education Camp @ Silent Valley
NP on 7 & 8th Nov17, and Mehandi Stall and Handicraft Stall @ Vaakkum Chorukkum
Programme set up to collect money for Abhayam-Home for Homeless Project, and sell the
handicrafts made by a differently abled person named Aboobacker on 18th Nov 17.
One of the most significant activities of the Units was the Blood Donation Camp held at the
college Auditorium with the assistance of NCC Unit of PSMO, Red Ribbon Club,
Perintalmanna Blood Bank and HDFC, Perintalmanna on 23rd Nov’ 17. Thereafter, the Unit
arranged various other programmes like International Anti-Corruption Day District Level
Celebration with the support of the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, Malappuram on
9th December 2017, AIDS Awareness Class on 11th Dec 17, Orientation Programme on
Palliative Care on 13th Dec’ 17, Institutional Planting- Planted-Tree Care Programme on
16th Dec’17, NSS Pre-Camp Orientation on 16th Dec 2017, and NSS Seven Days’ Special
Camp (KOOTU-2K17) held at KMHSS Kuttoor North from 24__30th Dec 2017 which
undertook the major projects like Samagra Arogya Kudumbakhema Survey,” Road Cleaning
and Free Ayurveda Medical Camp. A Social Forestry Survey was also conducted on 15 &
16 Jan 2018 to find out how far the tree saplings distribution of Social Forestry Department
among educational institutions on June-5 every year has succeeded to fulfill the mission of
management and protection of forest and aforestation in Malappuram District with the help and
support of Social Forestry Department. The activities of the Units for the academic year 2017-
18 came to a close with the School Safety Training Programme conducted in association
with District Disaster Management Authority, Angels Malappuram and Kerala Health Dept.
and inaugurated by Mr. Abdurab MLA on 24th Feb 2018. It was meant for School Students,
Municipal Counselors, and Members of District Panchayath, and honoured by the presence of
more than 3000 school students with their active participation.
National Cadet Corps
The College NCC unit with its 96 cadets (including 35 new recruits) and the Care-taker Anees
Ahamed E K. Asst. Prof. of Physical Education has a number of activities to its credit during
the academic year 2017-18. The highlights of the Unit’s activates include the observation of
World Environment Day (June 5, 2017), Yoga Day (June 21, 2017), Anti Child Labor Day
(June 26, 2017) and celebration of Independence Day (August 15, 2017), NCC Day
(November 19, 2017) and Republic Day Parade (January 26, 2017).
The World Environment Day was inaugurated by the College Principal Dr. K Azeez by planting
trees in the campus. The unit participated in the Independence Day Parade and Republic Day
Parade at MSP Police ground and bagged 2nd prize in both the parade competitions. The Unit
also conducted a Disaster Management Demonstration class in association with National
Disaster Response Force (NDRF) on 21st Aug 2017. NCC unit and NCC Ex cadets Association
together conducted two programmes: 1) Best Cadets competitions for NCC cadets under the
29 Kerala Battalion and 2) Quiz competition in association with Field Publicity Directorate

INB Government of India. Our cadets donated blood in the Blood Donation Camp held in
college campus. PSMO NCC Unit bagged second prize in the State Level Armed Force Flag
Day Collection by raising Rs 103450.

held at Alappuzha,Kerala; SGT Maneesha K, and CDT Anusha S K attended the NIC
held at Farook College, Ferook..
National Trekking: SUO Mohamed Nishad attended National Trekking held at
Thrippayar, Kerala
IGC Shooting Competition: CDT Sainul Abid K, and CDT Harsha K C participated
in IGC Shooting Competition held at West Hill, Calicut.
Special National Integration Camp (NIC): CDT. Sainul Abid K participated in SNIC
held at Rajasthan
Advance Leadership Camp: CPL Sharan T K attended the leadership camp.
Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP)
Communicative English Trainer
The college was selected for the fifth time as the Training Partner Institution for conducting
Communicative English Trainer (CET) residential camp of ASAP. The camp was for 21 days
from 04th May 2017 to 24th May 2017. There were two batches comprising 59 students selected
from outgoing UG/PG students across Kerala. Mr. Abdul Salam C was the Course Director of
the programme and the Principal was the Quality Controller. The programme was inaugurated
by Dr. K Mohammed Basheer, Vice Chancellor, University of Calicut. Apart from the training
sessions, the students got chance to interact with eminent personalities like Prof. Abdul
Rasheed KM, Director, AMU Malappuram Centre, Dr. P.K Babu, Principal DGM MES
Mampad College, Mr. Muhammed Rafi, Global Youth Ambassodor and Mr. Jabir Karat, CEO,
Greenworms Eco Solutions.
Regular ASAP and Orientation on Summer Skill School
The students to the new batch of regular ASAP of the campus were selected through an
interview on 19 September 2017. This course comprises Basic English, IT and a Skill Course
chosen by the students. 34 students were selected from 46 students who attended the interview.
The course was inaugurated by Dr. Abida Farooqui, Chairperson, UG Board of Studies,
University of Calicut, on 11 Dec 2017. Mr. Mohammed Shafeeque, Skill Development
Executive (SDE), handles the foundation modules.
An orientation on ASAP Summer Skill School (SSS) was also conducted for the entire Degree
and PG students of the college by Mr. Arun, Programme Manager, and Mr. Shafeeque, SDE

from ASAP on 14 February 2017. It offers students a hundred plus courses to choose from and
it aims to enhance the employability of youth of Kerala between 15 to 25 years of age.
