Abuse of Veteran: Department of the Army

Felicia Townsend Murphy, was a Black female, who served in the US Air Force from 1982 to 2004. Preventably, the Air Force veteran, died after a routine procedure at the Department of Army’s Brooke Medical Center. Dr. Edward Robert Kost, was named in the wrongful medical death complaint of veteran Felicia Murphy. The Department of Army settled the case prior to Dr. Kost’s departure from the Army. Although, the letter shown, expresses to Mr. Louis Murphy, the victim's husband, that an investigation was to take place into his deceased wife's death, Mr. Murphy stated no such investigation ever took place. The uploaded letter reflects the Army Department's admission of the tragic event.
