ABSTRAK
Kajian tindakan ini bertujuan untuk menentukan sejauh mana
keberkesanan kaedah Peta Minda Bergambar dalam meningkatkan
keupayaan murid tahun 5 membuat hubungkaitan antara bentuk muka
bumi tanah tinggi dengan ekonomi negara. Instrumen kajian terdiri
daripada ujian pra dan pos, soal selidik, skedul temu bual dan
catatan jurnal. Kumpulan sasaran kajian saya melibatkan 20 orang
murid tahun 5 dari sebuah sekolah rendah di Bandar Pekan Lama,
Kuala Selangor. Dua sesi pengajaran telah dijalankan; sesi pertama
melibatkan kaedah tradisional manakala sesi kedua melibatkan kaedah
Peta Minda Bergambar. Hasil dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa murid
lebih berupaya membuat hubungkaitan antara bentuk muka bumi tanah
tinggi dengan ekonomi negara apabila kaedah peta minda bergambar
digunakan berbanding dengan kaedah tradisional.The purpose of the
action research was to determine the effectiveness of the Picture
Mind Map method in enhancing Year 5 pupils ability to relate the
physical relief of highland areas to the countrys economy. The
instruments for the study comprised two tests, an interview
schedule, a questionnaire and journal jottings. The sample for this
study consisted of 20 Year 5 pupils from a primary school in Bandar

daripada soal selidik, temu bual dan catatan jurnal. Kumpulan
sasaran kajian saya melibatkan enam orang murid tahun 5 dari sebuah
sekolah rendah di Shah Alam. Dua sesi pengajaran telah dijalankan
yang mana sesi pertama melibatkan kaedah tradisional manakala sesi
kedua melibatkan penggunaan kaedah BFC. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan
bahawa kaedah BFC dapat membantu dalam meningkatkan minat murid

The purpose of the action research was to determine the extent
to which the use of the BFC method was effective in increasing Year
5 pupils interest for the topic Role of the Sultan and Palace
Officials during the Era of the Malay Sultanate of Malacca. The
instruments for the study comprised a questionnaire, an interview
schedule and journal jottings. The sample for the study consisted
of six pupils from a primary school in Shah Alam. Two lessons were
conducted, one involving the use of the traditional method and the
other involving the use of the BFC method. The results from the
study showed that the BFC method was better able to increase the
pupils interest towards the chosen topic as compared to the
traditional method.

murid tahun 5 untuk mencirikan jenis bentuk muka bumi serta
menghubungkaitkan bentuk muka bumi di Malaysia dan kepentingannya.
Instrumen kajian terdiri daripada ujian, borang pemerhatian, soal

The purpose of the action research was to determine the extent
to which the use of the MoPo technique is effective in improving
Year 5 pupils ability to state the characteristics of the different
physical relief of Malaysia and to relate the different physical
relief to their importance. The instruments for the study comprised
tests, an observation form, a questionnaire and journal jottings.
The sample for the study consisted of 15 Year 5 pupils from a
primary school in Bandar Country Homes, Rawang. Two lessons were
conducted; one involved the use of the traditional method while the
other involved the use of the MoPo technique. The results from the
study showed that the Year 5 pupils were better able to state the
characteristics of the different physical relief of Malaysia and

dijalankan dalam tempoh 2 minggu mengikut perancangan. Dua
pelajaran yang berlainan dijalankan, satu dengan menggunakan kaedah

kajian menunjukkan bahawa kaedah berpasangan berkesan dalam
meningkatkan daya ingatan murid tahun 5 terhadap tajuk Tokoh dan

The purpose of the action research was to determine the extent
to which the use of paired learning is effective in increasing
pupils memory retention for lesson content involving the topic
National Personalities and Leaders in the Local Studies subject.
The sample for the study consisted of 20 year 5 pupils in a primary
school in Rawang, Selangor. The instruments for the study comprised
two tests, an interview schedule, a questionnaire and journal
jottings. The study was carried out for a duration of two weeks.
Two different lessons were conducted, one involving the use of
paired learning and the other using a traditional mode of teaching.
The results from the study showed that the pupils had better memory
retention for the selected topic when paired learning was employed
as opposed to the traditional mode of teaching. The pupils were
also found to pay more attention towards the teaching and learning

AbstrakKajian tindakan ini bertujuan untuk menentukan sejauh
mana keberkesanan penggunaan kaedah VIRAS dalam meningkatkan minat
murid tahun 5 bagi tajuk Kedatangan Kuasa Luar ke Melaka. Responden
kajian terdiri daripada 20 orang murid tahun 5 di Sekolah
Kebangsaan Bandar Baru, Kuala Selangor. Kesemua responden mempunyai
tahap penglibatan yang rendah semasa pengajaran dan pembelajaran
serta minat yang rendah terhadap mata pelajaran Kajian Tempatan.
Keberkesanan penggunaan kaedah VIRAS ditentukan melalui pentadbiran
soal selidik, temu bual, pemerhatian dan catatan jurnal. Dapatan
kajian menunjukkan bahawa penggunaan kaedah VIRAS dapat
meningkatkan minat murid terhadap sesi pembelajaran bagi tajuk yang
telah dipilih.
The purpose of the action research was to determine the
effectiveness of the VIRAS method in enhancing pupils interest for
the topic Invasion of Malacca by Foreign Forces. The respondents
for the action research consisted of 20 Year 5 pupils from Sekolah
Kebangsaan Bandar Baru, Kuala Selangor. All the respondents had a
low level of participation in the lessons and a lack of interest
towards the Local Studies subject. The effectiveness of the VIRAS
method was determined through the use of a questionnaire, an
interview schedule, an observation form and also through journal
jottings. The results of the study showed that the VIRAS method can

jurnal. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa murid lebih berminat
terhadap pelajaran apabila kaedah multimedia interaktif digunakan

dilihat melalui tiga aspek iaitu keseronokan murid, tumpuan murid
dan penglibatan murid semasa proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran.

effectiveness of the use of interactive multimedia in increasing
pupils interest towards topics involving chronology of events in
history in the Local Studies subject. The respondents consisted of
10 Year 5 pupils from a primary school in Sungai Besar, Selangor.
The instruments used in this study consisted of an interview
schedule, a questionnaire and journal jottings. The findings showed
that pupils were more interested in the subject when the
interactive multimedia method was used compared with the
traditional method. The increase in interest can be seen from three
aspects: pupils enjoyment of the lesson, attention paid by the
pupils and pupils participation in the lessons.

orang murid tahun 5 di sebuah sekolah rendah di Kuala Selangor.
Instrumen kajian melibatkan penggunaan borang pemerhatian, borang
soal selidik, skedul temu bual, dan catatan jurnal. Dua sesi
pengajaran telah dijalankan, satu dengan menggunakan kaedah
tradisional dan satu lagi menggunakan bahan bantu mengajar Simply
Merged. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa murid tahun 5 lebih
berminat dengan tajuk Tanah Pamah dan Kepentingannya apabila bahan

ABSTRACT
The objective of this action research was to determine the
extent to which the BOKOP method is effective in increasing pupils
interest for the topic Dressing Appropriately According to
Situations in the Civics and Citizenship subject. The instruments
for this study included an observation form, a questionnaire, an
interview schedule and journal jottings. Twelve Year 5 pupils from
a primary school in Selangor were the respondents for this study.
Two different teaching methods were used in this study the
traditional mode and the BOKOP method. The results of the study
showed that the BOKOP method was more effective in increasing
pupils interest for the selected topic as compared to the
traditional mode.

murid tahun 5 lebih berminat dengan topik Pengasasan Melaka apabila
kaedah lakonan digunakan berbanding penggunaan kaedah tradisional.
Murid juga didapati lebih memberikan tumpuan terhadap proses

pengajaran yang berlainan dijalankan, satu dengan menggunakan

kajian menunjukkan bahawa murid tahun 5 lebih berupaya untuk
menerangkan kepentingan bentuk muka bumi apabila teknik stesen
digunakan berbanding dengan penggunaan kaedah tradisional. Murid

The sample for the study consisted of 25 year 5 pupils in a primary

study was conducted over a duration of 2 weeks. Two different
lessons were conducted, one following the traditional method and
the other using the station technique. The study showed that the
pupils were better able to explain the importance of the earth's
physical relief when the station technique was used as compared to

keberkesanan penggunaan teknik Koperatif Syair (OPSYA) dalam
meningkatkan kebolehan murid tahun 5 memberi pendapat. Sampel
kajian terdiri daripada 14 orang murid tahun 5 di sebuah sekolah
rendah di Bandar Country Homes, Rawang. Instrumen kajian melibatkan
penggunaan borang pemerhatian, skedul temubual, borang soal selidik
dan catatan jurnal. Kajian telah dijalankan dalam tempoh 2 minggu
mengikut perancangan. Dua sesi pengajaran yang berlainan telah
dijalankan, satu dengan menggunakan teknik chalk and talk dan satu
lagi menggunakan teknik OPSYA. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa
rata-rata murid dapat memberikan pendapat dengan lebih berkesan
apabila diajar dengan menggunakan teknik OPSYA berbanding dengan
teknik chalk and talk. Namun keberkesanan adalah terhad kerana
masih terdapat murid yang sama ada pasif atau kurang berkeupayaan
untuk memberi pendapat. Juga, penggunaan syair sebagai rangsangan
dilihat kurang membantu murid dalam memahami isi pelajaran. NUR

ABSTRACT
This study aimed to determine the extent to which the use of the
poetry cooperative (OPSYA) technique is effective in improving the
ability of pupils to give opinion. The sample consisted of 14 Year
5 pupils in a primary school in Bandar Country Homes, Rawang. The
instrument comprised an observation form, an interview schedule, a
questionnaire and journal jottings. The study was carried out over
a 2-week period as planned. Two different teaching sessions was
conducted, one using the chalk and talk technique and another using
the poetry cooperative technique. The findings indicated that the
pupils could give their opinion more effectively when taught using
the poetry cooperative technique as compared to the chalk and talk
technique. Nevertheless, its effectiveness was limited as some
pupils were still found to be either passive or unable to give
opinions. Also the technique was found to be less than helpful in

daripada 16 orang murid tahun 6 di sebuah sekolah rendah di Bandar
Country Homes, Rawang. Instrumen kajian melibatkan penggunaan
borang soal selidik, borang pemerhatian, skedul temu bual, dan
catatan jurnal. Kajian telah dijalankan dalam tempoh 2 minggu
mengikut perancangan. Dua pelajaran yang berlainan dijalankan, satu
dengan menggunakan kaedah PBT dan satu lagi menggunakan kaedah
tradisional. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa murid lebih
bermotivasi untuk melibatkan diri dalam pelajaran bagi tajuk
Kegiatan Ekonomi dan Lokasinya, apabila kaedah PBT digunakan
berbanding dengan penggunaan kaedah tradisional. Murid juga
didapati lebih memberikan tumpuan terhadap proses pengajaran dan
pembelajaran.

to which the use of the Television-Based Games (PBT) method is
effective in increasing year 6 pupils motivation to participate in
the lesson on the topic Economic Activity and Its Location. The
sample for the study consisted of 16 Year 6 pupils in a primary
school in Bandar Country Homes, Rawang. The instruments for the
study comprised an observation form, an interview schedule, a
questionnaire and journal jottings. The study was carried out over
a duration of two weeks as planned. Two different lessons were
conducted, one involving the use of the PBT method and the other
using a traditional mode of teaching. The results from the study
showed that the Year 6 pupils were more motivated to participate in
the lesson on the topic Economic Activity and Its Location when the
PBT method was used as compared to the traditional mode of
teaching. The pupils were also found to pay more attention towards

mengambil masa selama 2 minggu mengikut perancangan. Dua kaedah
pengajaran yang berlainan dijalankan iaitu kaedah tradisional dan
kaedah puzzle bergambar. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa kaedah
puzzle bergambar dapat meningkatkan keupayaan murid menyatakan
implikasi dalam mata pelajaran Pendidikan Sivik dan Kewarganegaraan
berbanding dengan kaedah tradisional. Murid juga didapati lebih
seronok dan memberikan lebih tumpuan semasa pengajaran kaedah

ABSTRACT
The purpose of the action research was to determine the
effectiveness of picture puzzles in helping pupils state
implications in the Civics and Citizenship Education subject. Data
were collected using a questionnaire, tests, interviews and journal
jottings. The participants of the study comprised 12 Year 5 pupils
from a primary school in Shah Alam. The study was carried out over
a duration of two weeks. Two different teaching methods were
employed the traditional and picture puzzle methods. The findings
of the study showed that the pupils were better able to state
implications when the picture puzzle method was used. The pupils
were also found to enjoy the lesson better and to pay more

keberkesanan kaedah MNU.PEV.WAR dalam membantu murid tahun 5 untuk
mengingati kronologi dan peristiwa perjalanan Parameswara membuka
Kota Melaka. Sampel kajian terdiri daripada 20 orang murid di
sebuah sekolah rendah di Shah Alam. Keberkesanan kaedah MNU.PEV.WAR
diukur dengan menggunakan ujian, soal selidik, skedul temu bual
serta catatan jurnal. Kajian dijalankan dalam tempoh 2 minggu. Dua
sesi pengajaran dan pembelajaran telah dilaksanakan; satu sesi
pengajaran dan pembelajaran telah dijalankan menggunakan kaedah
tradisional, manakala satu sesi lagi dijalankan menggunakan kaedah
MNU.PEV.WAR. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa murid lebih mudah
mengingati kronologi dan peristiwa perjalanan Paramewara membuka
Kota Melaka apabila kaedah MNU.PEV.WAR digunakan.

to remember the chronology and events marking the founding of
Malacca by Parameswara. The sample for the study consisted of 20

Abstract
The action research was conducted to determine the extent to
which the use of the JigsawRama method can help pupils relate the
characteristics of natural flora and fauna to the type of forest
where they reside. The instruments for the study comprised tests, a
questionnaire, an interview schedule and journal jottings. The
respondents for the study were 40 Year 5 pupils from a primary
school in Rawang, Selangor. The results of the study showed that
the JigsawRama method was not very effective in helping the pupils
relate the characteristics of natural flora and fauna to the type

kaedah MULTIPEK dalam meningkatkan ingatan murid tahun 5 bagi topik
Tumbuh-tumbuhan Semulajadi dan Hidupan Liar dalam subjek Kajian
Tempatan. Responden kajian terdiri daripada 16 orang murid tahun 5
di sebuah sekolah rendah di Shah Alam. Kajian tindakan ini telah
dijalankan dengan menggunakan bahan pembelajaran interaktif,
permainan, komputer dan LCD untuk merangsang pembelajaran murid
yang berbeza kecerdasan pelbagai. Data dikumpul melalui ujian pra
dan pos, borang soal selidik, temu bual dan catatan jurnal. Hasil
analisis keputusan menunjukkan bahawa kaedah MULTIPEK berkesan
dalam meningkatkan ingatan murid bagi topik berkenaan. ABSTRACT
The action research was conducted to investigate the
effectiveness of the MULTIPEK method to improve the ability of
pupils to remember the lesson content of the topic Natural Flora
and Fauna in the Local Studies subject. The sample for the study
consisted of 16 Year 5 pupils from a primary school in Shah Alam.
The action research was conducted using interactive learning
material, games, computer and LCD to stimulate learning amongst
pupils of diverse multiple intelligences. Data were collected
through pre- and post-tests, a questionnaire, an interview schedule
and journal jottings. Results of the analysis showed that the use
of the MULTIPEK method was effective in improving pupils ability to
remember the lesson content of the selected topic.
