1.WhyNoHonestChristianEverRecommendstheNew“KingJames”Version

ThefollowingtractusiswrittentoexposethemostsubtleandcraftypieceofdeceptioncarriedoutbytheAlexandrianCultsincethepublicationoftheNewAmericanStandardVersion(1960).

IfthereaderwillopenhisAuthorizedVersion—anyeditionprintedatanytimebyanyone—andcheckitwiththereferencesgiveninthisfilehewilldiscoverastartlingandgrislytruth:theso-called“NewKJV”istheRSVoftheNationalCouncilofChurchesreinstatedwithreadingsfromtheNewASV(andoldASVof1901)bymixingbothoftheminwiththereadingsoftheAuthorizedVersion.Thereaderwillobservefurtherthattheonlyreal“demand”forthisnewversionwasthedesireofabookpublishingcompanytosellBibleversions,aftertwooftheir“versions”refusedtosell:theASVof1901andtheRSVof1952.

Thesinnerswho“gottogether”topawnoffthisfakeKJVrepresenteveryshadeofapostateConservatismandEvangelicalisminAmerica,includingNeo-EvangelicalsupportersofBillyGraham(HaroldOckenga),Charismatichealers(ThomasZimmerman),SouthernBaptists(AdrianRogers),deadorthodoxapostates(HaroldLindsell),five-pointCalvinisticbabysprinklers(ArthurSteltzer),andBaptistBible“Fellowshippers”(A.V.Henderson).TheNewTestamentCommitteeactuallyhadthesupportofBoyceBlackwelder,whotaughtthattheFIREofMatthew3:11wastheHolySpiritandthateveryChristianinthisagecouldlosehissalvationandgotohell(seedocumentedevidence)[inProblemTexts,1980]takendirectlyfromBlackwelder’swork).

WemaythankGodthatthreemeninAmericahadbettersensethantoassociatethemselveswiththisecumenicalmagpie’snest;thosethreemenwereLesterRoloff,BobGrayandJackHyles.BobJones,Jr.,andBobJones,III,hadalreadyalignedthemselveswithacrewevenmorecorruptthanthiscrew,theywouldn’tcount.In1982BobJones,III,splitalocalchurchinLosAngelesrightdownthemiddlebytellingtheyoungpeoplefromthatchurchthattheyhadtotakesidesagainsttheirownpastorontheissueofTextualCriticismandadopttheviewsofStewartCuster—oneoftheirownfacultymembers—whohasaboutasmuchintegrityandspiritualinsightasyoucouldputinthelefteyeofablindmosquito.BobJones,Jr.andIII,insistedthatthemembersofthislocalBaptistchurchtaketheBJUviewofWestcottandHortagainsttheBible-believingviewoftheirownpastor.

AlthoughthefacultymembersatTennesseeTempleandFalwell’sschoolinLynchburghavenotyetgonethisfaroverboardintheireffortstocontrolthelocalchurches,theyare“ontheway”withthisNew“KingJames”Bible.In1982EdHindsonandEdDobson,twoofthegreatestBible-rejecting“Fundamentalists”intheUSA,wereinvitedintoadozenChristiancollegesandseminariestolectureonthesuperiorityofThomasNelson’slatestpublicationtotheAVof1611.

ToreinforcethisSatanicpropaganda,anumberof“original”1611versionswerereproducedwiththemotiveinmindbeingthatwhentheChristianyoungpeoplein

AmericasawthattheAVtheyhadbeenusing(theonetheirfathersandgrandfathersandgreat-grandfathershadbeenusing:Moody,Finney,Sunday,SamJones,WilliamBooth,JohnWesley,PeterCartwright,EarnestReveal,GypsySmith,Dr.DeHaan,CharlesSpurgeon,JonathanEdwards,MelTrotter,etc.)didnotexactlymatchtheoriginalAVeditiontheywouldbeseducedintoacceptingacombinationRSV-KJV-ASVthatdidn’tmatchiteither!BobJonesUniversity(againtakingtheleadintheLaodiceanapostasy)sentoutacoloredpamphletontheAVshowingonlyONEPAGEOFTHEORIGINALedition;onthatonepagewastheApocryphaheading.ThiswasdesignedtomaketheChristiansthinkthattheAVhadincludedtheApocryphaaspartoftheScriptures.

Now,inthisfile,weexposethedesperatetacticsoftheseprofessionalliarswhoselifelongministriesarededicatedtousurpingtheauthorityoftheHolySpiritandwhoselifelonglaborsareaimedatcreatingthemaximumamountofUNBELIEFinabsoluteauthority.

NooneatBobJones’schooloratDaytonHobb’sschooloratRodneyBell’sschooloratJackHyles’schooloratJerryFalwell’sschooltoldtheirreadersthattheAPOCRYPHAwasincludedasPARTOFTHEINSPIREDOLDTESTAMENT—INSERTEDBETWEENTHECANONICALBOOKSASCANONICAL—intheGreekmanuscript(theAlexandriantextsfromSinaiticusandVaticanus)recommendedbyBobJones,Wheaton,TennesseeTemple,PensacolaChristianCollege,Moody,Fuller,Piedmont,Biola,PacificCoastandDallas,whiletheAVtranslatorshadenoughsensetoknowthatnoneofthembelongedthere.ThisiswhytheAVtranslatorsstuckthemBETWEENtheTestaments—asthe“Scofieldnotes”—sothatnoonewouldthinktheywere“INSPIRED.”

Byduplicity,bycalculatedsubtlety,andwithintentiontodeceive,themodernapostateFundamentalistssimplyrefusedtotranslatetheMANUSCRIPTSWHICHTHEYRECOMMENDEDANDUSED(andpromoted)assuperiortotheAVmanuscripts.ByrefusingtotranslateALLofSinaticusandVaticanus,theapostateConservativesandFundamentalistsinAmericaledthebodyofChrist(for80years!!)tobelievethattheAVcontainedtheApocryphawhiletheASVandNASVandNIVdidn’t.TheGreekmanuscriptsfortheASV,NASVandNIVdocontaintheApocrypha,andnotbetweentheTestaments;theyarecontainedINtheOldTestament.

Wehopethereaderwillcheckallreferencesgiveninthistractus.Heistoldto“proveallthings”and“holdfasttotheformofSOUNDWORDS.”Heiscommandedtolet“NOMAN”deceivehim,andheistoldfurtherto“BENOTDECEIVED”andnottodeceive“HIMSELF”(Matt.24:4,1Cor.6:9,Gal.6:7).

Nohonestman(inthisage)hasanybusinessbelievingANYTHINGtaught,saidorwrittentoANYChristianleaderinAmericabeforecheckingthatmanoutwiththelivingwordsofthelivingGod.Nohonestman(inthisage)hasanybusinessacceptingthePROFESSIONofany“godly,dedicated,spirit-filled,militant,evangelical,soul-winningFundamentalist”ifthatprofessiondoesn’tlineupwiththelivingwordsofthelivingGod.Thetimehaslongpassed(1901)inAmericawhereanyBiblebelieverissafeinfollowinganyscholar,nomatterWHATthatscholarprofesses,wherethatscholarisengagedinturningabeliever’sfaithintheHolyBibletohimselfsothatheandhisfriendswillbethebeliever’sfinalauthority.

HUMANISMisthecurseofthiscentury,andnowhereisitmoremanifestthaninthese

relativistic,subjectivehumanistswhoprofesstobelievein“theplenary,verbalinspirationoftheoriginalautographs.”Theyarethemosthumanisticrelativistsonthisearthoutsideofpureatheisticevolutionists.Thiswillbeapparentinwhatfollows.AttheendofthisbookletwehaveprintedacreedwhichhasappearedinprintfornearlythreeyearsintheBibleBelievers’Bulletin.YouwillfindthatitmatchesthePROFESSIONofeveryscholarwhowasconnectedwiththeNew“KingJames”Version—whichmoreaptlyshouldbecalledtheFalwell-NelsonversionortheHindson-Dobsonversion.TheAlexandrianCreedisthestandardconfessionofeverymemberoftheAlexandrianCultfromOrigen(250)toFarstad(1983).NotonememberoftheCultcanhonestlydenyalineofit,andnomatterhowsubtlyhetriestogetaroundhisadherencetoit,theCreedisatruestatementofwhatarealCultmemberbelieves.

NohonestmancouldrecommendtheNew“KingJames”Version(1982)toanyone.

TheonlypeoplewhocouldrecommenditwouldbefacultymembersofChristianschools,“militantFundamentalists,”Evangelicals,ConservativesandGreekandHebrewscholars.

Honestyisoutofthequestion.

HavingfolloweddetailedarticlesontheAlexandrianCultintheBulletinforaperiodofnearlythreeyears,BiblebelieverswerenotsurprisedtoseeDobson,Hindson,Towns,Hutson,FalwellandotherapostateFundamentalistsfinallypresentinga“New”AuthorizedVersiontoreplacethehatedandenviedonethatAmericanshadbeenusing,preaching,teachingandBELIEVINGformorethan200years.Farstad,ofDallasTheologicalSeminary,wasthemainspokesmaningettingtheNew“EcumenicalRat’sNest”published;andFalwell,ofcourse,didthepromotion.Themainorganofpromotionnowisamagazinecalled“THEFUNDAMENTALISTJOURNEY,”andthetwomajorspokesmenchosentodestroythefaithofAmericanyoungpeopleintheAV1611andtoreinstateitwiththeJFV(JerryFalwellVersion)areEdDobsonandEdHindson.NeithermanprofessestohavereadtheBibleortheScripturesasbothmendefinethetermsintheirownwritings.Tobothmen,“theBible”isnotinfallibleorinerrantinANYversion,andtheterm“Scripture”isnotareferencetoanyBibleanyoneinAmericahasread.

Thesetwosmooth,slick,softgentlemenhavenowbeensentoutas“associationalmissionaries”with“itineraries”designedtosellthe“NewKingJamesBible”(Falwell-Nelsonversion)toChristianyoungpeople.TheywillputouttheirpropagandaattheHighStreetBaptistChurchinSpringfield(DavidCavin),attheBaptistTemple(W.E.Dowell),atBaptistBibleCollege(Springfield),attheFirstBaptistChurchofFortWorth(JohnnyRamsey),atArlingtonBaptistCollege,andattheConservativeBaptistSeminaryatDenver,Colorado.

TheirmissionistocreateapopulardemandfortheFalwell-Nelsonversionsothatthesaleswillbebasedon“THEVOICEOFTHEPEOPLE”(seeFalwell’smagazine,p.30).TheideaistomakeChristiansbelievethatitwas“THEPEOPLE”whodemandedtheFalwell-Nelson1982version.Theterm“THEPEOPLE”is,ofcourse,borrowedfromCastro,MaoTse-tungandgoodoldAbrahamLincoln.Theexpressionwascommentedonatlengthin19872intheBibleBeliever’sCommentaryonActsinActs21:28,whichsee.

Ofcoursetherewasnomandatefrom“thepeople”atallfora“NewKingJamesVersion.”Themandatecamefromthehard-pressedapostatescholarsatfundamentalschoolswhosestudentbodieswereinanuproarovertheexposureofthehypocrisyofthosefacultymembersby“Ruckmanites.”No,“thepeople”requestednothing.TheBiblebelieversneedednothing.Thescholarsneededabreathoffreshairandreleasefrompressure.

ItistimenowfortherealBiblebeliever—certainlynoonelikeDobson,HindsonorFarstad—totakeacloselook,averycloselook,atwhatthesemodernapostateFundamentalistshavepassedoffasalegal“edition”orstandard“revision”oftheAVof1611.Theploy,ofcourse,forthe“patsies”wasthatsincetheAVhadbeenupdatedseveraltimessince1611thattheFalwell-Nelsonversion(NKJV)coulddoittooandyouwouldHAVETOACCEPTITASALEGITIMATEREVISIONBECAUSEYOUACCEPTEDTHEOTHERS.

NowthatisthegimmickthatHindson,Falwell,Hutson,Henderson,DobsonandFarstadworkedon,andthatishowitwillbepresentedtotheSTUDENTBODIESofSpringfield,

Arlington,FortWorthandDenver.Theideaissimple.ThegimmickwillrelievethefacultymembersofanypressuretostickbytheTEXTthatalloftheirstudents(andthestudent’smothersandfatherandgrandmothersandgrandfathers)readandbelieved;instead,theycanbeweanedfromthistextandintroducedtoabastardtranslationthatmovesthemonceagainbacktotheASVof1901(Alexandriantext)andtheRSVof1952(Alexandriantext)while“usingtheTextusReceptus”(Syriantext).
