In this about me project we will be talking about my background, future plans, personal goals, and interests and hobbies. Through the interest and hobbies menu you will find out I love reading, music, and baking. These things mean the most to me. You will realize that my family and where I come from mean the world to me and without that I wouldn’t be where I am today.

Background

I was born in San Bernardino, California. We lived there till I was eight months old. We moved to Redlands, California in the year 2000. My dad was born in Alsmakieh and my mom was born in Amman. Both these places are in Jordon a country out in the middle east(lately it has been known as the place where the isis attacks are happening). I have visited my family there once when I was six years old. During that trip I also visited Lebanon, and Syria. As my family and I were leaving Lebanon the first bomb went off that started the war. We have also visited London, Lake Tahoe, Nevada, and New York. My mom and dad both come from very large families. I have seven aunts and two uncles from my moms side of the family. On my fathers side of the family I have seven aunts and one uncle. A fun fact is that my dad and his oldest nephew are the same age(55). In total I have around two hundred first and second cousins. Coming from such a large family can have its ups and downs sometimes, but when you are able to put us all in one house we can throw one of the bests parties ever. You always have someone that is your age. There is never a shortage of people to talk to. Sometimes a large family can have its downfalls but as long as we stay close and stay true to each other nothing can rip us apart. I love my family they mean the world to me. Without them I would not be who I am today and I definitely wouldn’t be as happy as I am now.

Future Plans

In the future I want to be able to attend The University of San Diego. From there I would like to get a double major in marine biology and business. The University is a large campus in San Diego. It is located a mile away from the beach. The campus is beautiful. There is around 8,349 students enrolled. In the 2013-2014 school year 2,272 people graduated with degrees. 1,281 bachelors degrees, 614 masters, 319 doctors/masters of law, and 58 doctoral degrees. The lowest grade point average they accept is a 2.5. That means this school does not accept someone who had a D average in High School. There has only been a few people who have gotten in to the University of San Diego with a 2.5. They say that is the minimum they will accept but in full honesty they would prefer a student with 3.0 over a student with a 2.5. It gives there school a better reputation when they have students getting good grades and doesn’t just accept anyone.

Personal Goals

My personal goals are to some day own and manage my dads businesses'. As of right now my father own two subway restaurants and a chevron gas station. He has owned a Charro Chicken, a 76 gas station. My father will take these places buy them for cheap and then sell the for millions. But all the money he does make off of doing that goes to the business expenses and house payments. My father is a great role model when it comes to owning, managing and all-in-all running a business. It makes me happy to know that even if I can’t achieve my goal of getting a double major I would be more than glad to walk in the same footsteps as my dad. Since I was little I loved to go up to work with my dad. I would work in subway and attempt to make sandwiches (even though I couldn’t see over the counter), or even till today to go and work the register at chevron. As a little girl I was happy just to go to reorganize the refrigerator and make sure labels were showing. So yes, I would one day love to go and make sure the business stays up and running.

I have always been interested in reading, music, and baking. I grew up with my mom always reading to me. Because of me coming from a large family I always grew up going to parties and gained a love for music. My baking interest started when I actually understood how to use a measuring cup. Since then I was able to do what I love with the people I love and for the people I love.

My mom and I always read together. She is the one who told me that there is a power behind books that no one can explain. Books are a way for someone to escape reality for a little bit and live their live in someone else’s shoes. That’s what has always interested me in reading. I could read for hours on end and not realize everything that is going on around me. I am upset that I haven't written down every book I have every read. But knowing that reading will always be available makes me super excited. It is not one of those things that comes and goes as technology excels. I have read over fifty book do I wish I wrote them all down yes, but I know most of them. I have read The Hunger Games series, the Host, the House of Night series, Twilight saga, Pretty Little Liars series, The Immortals series, the Divergent series, The Fault In Our Stars, If I Stay, Where She Went, The Fire Within series, the Fallen series, the Vampire Academy series and The Tale of Desperaux. Of course there are more but that’s about sixty-five books. My love for books just keeps growing and growing. Just a little side note, I can not stand electronic readers they don’t have the same feel as books and they can not hold your tears. They never have and never will be the same.

Country music is something that I have grown accustomed to my parents would never listen to English music unless it was country. At first I couldn’t stand the sound of it but as I got older I also realized the meaning behind most of the music. I would hope that everyone knew that Nashville, Tennessee is the country music capital of the world. Also it is the home of The Grand Ole Opry the place that made country music famous. It opened in 1925 when a new form of dance was invented and everyone wanted to know it. The grand ole opry is the place that taught the dance and was bring country music up to the top. Yes, it sounds very cliché that I would be saying country music is on the top but the meaning behind the lyrics, the way the artist acknowledge the fans as their number one. The artist know that without their fans there is no way any one of them could be famous. Also, the way you don’t see the artist bringing each other down and always being there for one another is something you don’t find with every genera of music. There is something special about the way they will work together to make great music. They understand that there are a lot of haters but they also understand that they will always have there fans.

Baking is something I have loved to do since I learned how to use fractions in the third grade. I can home from school telling my mom that I know how to bake of course I didn’t but the point was I always tried to figure it out. My mom helped me with the oven or anything that required electricity because I was still not to be trusted. As I grew older I realized I wasn’t half bad at baking. I always would send my friend some new desert to try. I enjoyed getting there criticism because I knew that the criticism was a way to get better. Now whenever I have free time I am baking or reading. Everyone says my family will get diabetes because of me baking and making fatty foods. But that’s why I give the food to all my friends and family.
