Glenwood’s Journey Academy in Huntsville, Alabama, provides educational programs for adults with an Autism Spectrum Disorder or other behavioral health needs. Adults will participate in programs that introduce them to the functional skills that will help them move toward a more independent life. Programming focuses on the development of daily living, social, and vocational skills and encourages the exploration of recreational and leisure activities that foster self-determination and self-advocacy in order to meet the personal goals of each individual. As Glenwood approaches 40 years of providing the highest standard of treatment, education, and support to individuals and families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders and other behavioral health needs, we want to respond to these needs in the Huntsville area. The introduction of the Journey Academy into this community will allow those needs to be met in a positive, supportive, and rewarding environment.
