WHAT CANSO DO:
Within the overall context of promoting safe and efficient air navigation service provision, CANSO seeksto:
-Maintain an international forum
-Develop an international network for ANS experts to enable information exchange between specific ANSPs and other stakeholders for the promotion of best practice within ATM
- Liaise with other transport industry stakeholders, particularly airlines, industry
suppliers and airports, to the overall benefit of the aviation industry
-Contribute to the continuous global air transport debate through the presentation and promotion of the ANSP perspective across the range of contemporary issues in the industry
-Represent the views and interests of Members at relevant international institutions, particularly the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)
-Promote and support international legislation, regulations and agreements that strengthen the positionof Members
MISSION
To provide a worldwide platform for customer and stakeholder driven civil ANS providers. OBJECTIVES
The aims and objectives of CANSO shall be:
Safety, Effectiveness and Efficiency: To support Members in the provision of safe, efficient and cost effective air navigation services worldwide.
Forum: To provide a global forum for the exchange of
information to support alignment towards customer focused organisations, to agree measures of performance, to influence selection and implementation of future technology and to represent interests of Members in relevant international bodies worldwide.
Performance: To support increased safety, efficiency and enhanced
management of air navigation services provision.
Joint Action: To address common issues and problems andthrough co ordinated action and co operation and by mobilising expertise and knowledge, develop cost effective proposals for their resolution
Influence: To provide a means to influence standardisation and
planning bodies in the field of air navigation servicesand related areas, globally.
Representation: To represent the views and interests of Members with the
relevant international bodies .To represent Full Members towards third parties such as international organisations, within the frame of formally agreed mandates.
Delivery of Value: To deliver value for all Members.
VISION
Vision 2020’ is CANSO’s vision to transform global air traffic management (ATM) performance and deliver seamless airspace globally. It lays out the most comprehensive strategic framework and supporting work programme ever created in CANSO and the ATM industry.

In addition, it focuses on two new areas of reform: Better Regulation and Service Priority.
CANSO REGIONS
CANSO has five regions:
Africa, the Americas, Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East with offices in Brussels, Jeddah, Mexico City, Singapore and Johannesburg. Each region has a
CANSO Regional Director. In addition, the CANSO Director ICAO Affairs operates in Montreal.
CANSO’s regional offices coordinate activities atlocal level, within the framework of policies and positions agreed at CANSO global level. They represent the interests of ANSPs on regional initiatives such as regional airspace harmonisation, or the regional roll-out of operational improvements such as performance-based navigation (PBN) or ADS-B
