PROGRAMME OF THE MASS

ENTRANCE SONG

Hymn 21: There’s a Stranger at the Door

There’s a Stranger at the door,

Let Him in;

He has been there oft before,

Let Him in;

Let Him in, ere He is gone,

Let Him in, the Holy One,

Jesus Christ, the Father’s Son,

Let Him in.

Open now to Him your heart,

Let Him in;

If you wait He will depart,

Let Him in;

Let Him in, He is your Friend;

He your soul will sure defend,

He will keep you to the end,

Let Him in.

Hear you now His loving voice?

Let Him in;

Now, oh, now make Him your choice,

Let Him in;

He is standing at your door,

Joy to you He will restore,

And His Name you will adore,

Let Him in.

Now admit the heav’nly Guest,

Let Him in;

He will make for you a feast,

Let Him in;

He will speak your sins forgiv’n,

And when earth ties all are riv’n,

He will take you home to heav’n,

Let Him in.

Reading 1: Wisdom 3:1-9

The souls of the just are in the hand of God, and no torment shall touch

them. They seemed, in the view of the foolish, to be dead; and their passing

away was thought an affliction and their going forth from us, utter destruc-

tion. But they are in peace. For if before men, indeed, they be punished, yet

is their hope full of immortality; chastised a little, they shall be greatly

blessed, because God tried them and found them worthy of himself. As gold

in the furnace, he proved them, and as sacrificial offerings he took them to

himself. In the time of their visitation they shall shine, and shall dart about as

sparks through stubble; they shall judge nations and rule over peoples, and

the LORD shall be their King forever. Those who trust in him shall under-

stand truth, and the faithful shall abide with him in love: because grace and

mercy are with his holy ones, and his care is with his elect. The Word of the

Lord.

Hymn 104: The Lord's My Shepherd

1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

The Lord's my Shepherd; I'll not want.

He makes me down to lie

In pastures green; He leadeth me

The quiet waters by.

My soul He doth restore again;

And me to walk doth make

Within the paths of righteousness,

E'en for His own name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through death's dark vale,

Yet will I fear no ill;

For Thou art with me, and Thy rod

And staff me comfort still.

My table Thou hast furnished

In presence of my foes;

My head Thou dost with oil anoint,

And my cup overflows.

Goodness and mercy all my life

Shall surely follow me;

And in God's house Forevermore

My dwelling place shall be.

Reading 2: 2 Corinthians 4:14-18

Knowing that the one who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus

and place us with you in his presence. Everything indeed is for you, so that

the grace bestowed in abundance on more and more people may cause the

thanksgiving to overflow for the glory of God. Therefore, we are not dis-

couraged; rather, although our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is

being renewed day by day. For this momentary light affliction is producing

for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to

what is seen but to what is unseen; for what is seen is transitory, but what is

unseen is eternal. The Word of the Lord.

Hymn 26: Charity is Patient

1.

2.

3.

4.

Charity is Patient, Steadfast love

How kind it is!

Feeling never envy, never,

Never is perverse

Great charity.

Refrain: Yes, the greatest of all is charity.

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia.

Sad to see evil done

Truth all its happiness

Charity can never, never brood on injury

Great charity.

Bears, believes and hopes

Enduring to the last.

Prophecy shall pass, shall pass away,

Silence fall on tongue,

Great charity.

Knowledge has a term, has a term,

Swept away for evermore

Charity, steadfast love, that shall never end.

Great charity.

Gospel: Romans 14:8-11

For if we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord.

Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. For this reason Christ

died, rose and lived again. That he might be Lord of both the dead and the

living. For it is written: “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow

before me, and every tongue shall give praise to God.”

OFFERTORY

Hymn 62: Take My Life, and Let It Be

Take my life and let it be

consecrated, Lord, to thee.

Take my moments and my days;

let them flow in endless praise,

let them flow in endless praise.

Take my hands and let them move

at the impulse of thy love.

Take my feet and let them be

swift and beautiful for thee,

swift and beautiful for thee.

Take my voice and let me sing

always, only, for my King.

Take my lips and let them be

filled with messages from thee,

filled with messages from thee.

Take my silver and my gold;

not a mite would I withhold.

Take my intellect and use

every power as thou shalt choose,

every power as thou shalt choose.

Take my will and make it thine;

it shall be no longer mine.

Take my heart it is thine own;

it shall be thy royal throne,

it shall be thy royal throne.

Take my love; my Lord, I pour

at thy feet its treasure store.

Take myself, and I will be

ever, only, all for thee,

ever, only, all for thee.

EXIT SONG

Amazing Grace

Amazing grace! how sweet the sound,

That saved a wretch; like me!

I once was lost, but now am found,

Was blind, but now I see.

’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,

And grace my fears relieved;

How precious did that grace appear

The hour I first believed!

The Lord hath promised good to me,

His word my hope secures;

He will my shield and portion be

As long as life endures.

When we’ve been there ten thousand years,

Bright shining as the sun,

We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise

Than when we first begun.

Back of the above photo says:

daughters of Dad in Nigeria. Go Slow.”
