As part of this, some pupils are presented with Values Certificates or Star Pupil Certificates. Historically, parents were invited to join these. Due to timetabling movements, we paused this during Advent. We forgot to invite you back- whoops! When we spotted this, we immediately canvassed opinions from pupils and parents. We were surprised to find out that the majority of responses fed back that assemblies were smoother and had more impact when kept ‘in house’. We were also shocked to hear the feedback from parents about how much pressure they felt to attend and the additional demands and stresses this placed on their workload. One parent shared : ‘I hated having to attend when I worked full time but now that I’m not working , I like it.’ In order to relieve the pressure for all, you will be invited to attend your child’s class assembly. There is one a year and the dates are set for the whole year. This will enable you to forward plan. Celebrations in weekly assemblies will be shared via twitter and can then be discussed, shared and enjoyed as a family after the event. Twitter Want to keep in touch over the Summer? Parents of boys please talk together about the haircut policy in school and agree, as adults, to follow it. The amount of times we have heard ‘it was his dad that took him’ as a reason for not following the policy is unbelievable. Goodbye and Good Luck Today we say goodbye to our brilliant Year 6 pupils. It has been an honour for all staff at the Abbey school to be part of their faith journey and to watch them develop into the wonderful young people they have become. We hope they continue to follow in the footsteps of Jesus with their friends, family and Parish and make the right choice to become the person God has called them to be. We wish them every success for the future

Goodbye and Good Luck
Today we say goodbye to our brilliant Year 6 pupils. It has been an honour for all staff at the Abbey school
to be part of their faith journey and to watch them develop into the wonderful young people they have
become. We hope they continue to follow in the footsteps of Jesus with their friends, family and Parish and
make the right choice to become the person God has called them to be.
