Immediately abandon your vehicle if you are caught in rising water
Safety in hailstorms
DON’T LEAVE THE CAR!!!• Stop driving and pull to an underpass, pull to the shoulder• Keep the vehicle angled so the front is facing the hail• Avoid ditches due to possible rising water• Lie down, back facing the windows, cover yourself if possible
Fixing the damage• Call your insurance and report your claim• Find out what the best repair method is and schedule an inspection• Get the vehicle repaired based on the best repair method• Make sure the vehicle is repaired, check for dents• Get a written guarantee and contact information before you leave
Safety during earthquakes
You do not need to leave• Drive to an area away from buildings, trees, overpasses,
underpasses, or wires• Slow down, find a place to stop, make sure you are away from traffic• Check for injuries• Turn on your radio and listen for instructions from authorities• Stay off of your phone except to report injuries• Proceed with caution once shaking has stopped, stay clear of
structures that may have been damaged in the quake• Look for cracks, breaks, or obstructions as you drive• NEVER DRIVE OVER AN ELECTRICAL LINE!
Leave the car if necessary, if the ground opens up beneath your car, abandon the car, don’t be stupid.
