AARNET – member update

2

• AARNet Corporate Unified Communications systems upgraded to latest version of Cisco solution.

• We are extremely busy with implementing the next generation AARNet multimedia infrastructure, based around Session Border Controller Technology.

• Building Cisco Telepresence Exchange

• Four cross platform Telepresence rooms across AARNet and Curtin University campus connected via Polycom RMX4000 MCU, using H.323. (3 x Polycom and 1 x Huawei)

• Leon Li and Bill Efthimiou, together with USM NAV6 centre, delivered SIP workshop in Penang last week. Participants from across Asia. All seem keen to join the APAN SIP peering service, which is very encouraging. It’s up to us as group to make this work.

• APAN SIP peering service. Previous peering participants, have disappeared. We should try and get them back.
