Please remit payment with your application of either the full amount, or a deposit of $300 if applying for a grant. * GRANTS: AAPS Grants for up to 50% of the cost of the plaque, mounting, and installation are available for Alameda Historical Monuments with the submission of a typed letter of application. There is a limit on the number of grants that will be funded each year.
Plaques for Alameda Historical Monuments are 10”x12” cast bronze with the AAPS logo. The cost for these plaques is $375. If the plaque will not be mounted on the building or a vertical surface, a metal pole mount is available when ordered with the plaque. Plaques can also be mounted on owner obtained boulders or concrete pedestals. District plaques are available and can show a map of district boundaries.

HISTORIC BUILDING PLAQUE These plaques are 10” x 8” oval-shaped bronze plaques (see example). Eligibility Criteria: Buildings, structures, and objects that possess architectural and historic integrity and which meet the following criteria:
1. S or N category on City of Alameda Historic Building Study List OR has been brought back to S or N condition through restoration (AAPS inspection) OR is pre-1870 OR contributes to a Heritage Area; or
2. Building history researched by applicant and verified by AAPS. Historic Building Plaques: $325/each (AAPS Members) / $375/each (Non-AAPS Members). New AAPS Membership is included in non-member price. Please fill out below application information.

PRESERVATION AWARD 1998-2011 AAPS began awarding plaques to Preservation Award winners in 2012. Plaques are available for prior year Preservation Award winners for a cost of $200 each, as long as the property has remained in award condition (subject to inspection), and the owner is an AAPS member (individual membership is $30).

A property owner may wish to purchase a special “interpretive” plaque with additional information. Interpretative plaques may show before and after pictures of the property or offer additional historical or preservation information. These plaques will be made from porcelain-coated steel, are 10” x 12” or 12” x 18” in size and can be purchased for any resource that meets the criteria for either an Alameda Historical Monument or Historical Building Plaque, or has received a Preservation Award. Text will be subject to approval by AAPS and/or be verified by historian. Quantity discounts are available. Prices: AAPS Members: 10”x12”=$700 (half tone), $800 (4-‐color), 12”x18”=$850 (half-‐tone), $1050 (4 color). Non-‐AAPS Members: 10”x12”=$750 (half-‐tone), $850 (4-‐color), 12”x18”=$900 (half-‐tone), $1100 (4 color). New AAPS Membership is included in non-‐member price.
