Anand Prabhu Kudi Vihar
The different types of tribes living in the district are Pardhi, Binjhwar, Dhanwar, Halba, Kamar, Kanwar,
Kharai, Munda, Bahalia, Saur, Saharia, Sonar, Sanwara,
Kharwar and Bhujia.
There is a great scope for intense mining activity as Granite rocks and Limestone rocks are found in the
district.
Anand Prabhu Kudi Vihar, Chhattisgarh was constructed by a follower of Buddha named Bhikshu Anand Prabhu
Anand Prabhu Kudi Vihar, Mahasamund is a fourteen room Buddhist vihar. The main entrance of Anand Prabhu Kudi
Vihar is adorned and beautified by a dwarpaal (doorkeeper) carved in stone pillars. There are two dwarpaals on either side
of the entrance.
The inside of the vihar displays a six feet tall statue of Buddha touching the earth. The fourteen rooms in the vihar are
exquisitely and elegantly decorated.
