Dear Colleagues,
thIt gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the 12 AAGL International
Congress in Mumbai, India. Central to the mission of the AAGL has always
been the expansion of minimally invasive gynecologic surgery worldwide.
Each year our international meeting serves as an opportunity to partner
with colleagues and societies from various parts of the world to bring
together the best clinical techniques and scientic advancements available.
This year is no exception. The Scientic Program Committee, led by
Prakash Trivedi, MD, has assembled an incredible panel of invited faculty
experts from throughout India and the world. They represent a wide range
of expertise that covers the gamut of gynecologic surgery from traditional
laparoscopy and hysteroscopy all the way to robotics. Woven throughout
the program are various hands-on workshops, scientic sessions, panel
discussions and great debates on hot button topics. A crowning jewel to
this year’s program is the planned 2 days of live surgeries from 13 operative
theaters throughout Mumbai. This represents the largest live telesurgery
undertaking at an AAGL International Congress yet.
Bottom line: there is just so much to see and do that you will have to come to
Mumbai to experience it for yourself. And remember, after learning some
new gynecologic tips & tricks, set aside some time to experience the culture
and see the wonderful sites of India. I look forward to seeing you there.
Best wishes & safe travels,
Arnold P. Advincula, MD
