To improve the social and economic integration outcomes of vulnerable newcomer populations through the creation and implementation of three neighbourhood settlement strategies and workplans

To involve newcomers, settlement service organizations, employers and other neighbourhood stakeholders in the processes to create 3 Councils & 3 neighbourhood settlement strategies

To create and implement detailed workplans and new pilot initiatives in the areas of service coordination and mentoring in all three neighbourhoods in a process that is linked and complementary

STRATEGY #1 – COOPERATION & PARTNERSHIP: Foster and promote a culture of cooperation, collaboration, and partnership in the delivery of services to newcomers in Parkdale-Trinity WDTLIP-Wide Partnerships & Coordination Committee:

- the development of a values-based framework to support the development of a genuine “Collaboration Culture,” including clarification of the LIP’s role in support project coordination and funding proposals

- the development of web-based collaboration tools, as well as collaborative program materials and administrative tools

- supporting funder collaboration

STRATEGY #2 – LANGUAGE: Increased access to suitable English language training, interpretation/translation services & services in first language for newcomers in the area

Service Coordination (LINC/ESL, interpretation, language services)

Oversee the comprehensive updating of the English language training services contained in the website’s Services Directory, and use this as the basis for the development of inventories of the following services in the Parkdale-Trinity area:

- Conversation Circles

- Lower Level & Literacy language training services

- Higher Level language training services
