Don’t worry, the business, opened by Marybeth and Freddy Smith, did not move too far from its original location. It’s actually across from it on Main Street, behind Dominos. The business serves coffee, espresso, homemade candy, and baked goods, take home casseroles, chicken salad, and desserts. For your daily cup of Joe The Board of Directors of INSOUTH Bank is pleased to announce several leadership changes at the Bank, following the retirement of Tim Herndon, who most recently served as President and CEO. “First, the Board of Directors and I want to thank Tim for his many years of service and wish him all the best in retirement as he enjoys more time with his wife, children, and grandchildren,” said JD Clinton, Chairman of INSOUTH. Clinton added, “David Prince, a career employee for over 23 years, has been elected by the board to be President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. David has been a key part of the management team for quite some time and I am confident he has the knowledge and experience to lead the Bank now and in the future.” Other new appointments include Bret Whitley, Chief Lending Officer; Mike Perry, Chief Financial Officer; and Van Watkins, Chief Credit Officer. “Each of these three individuals brings a unique set of knowledge and experience to their new positions,” said Prince. “I am not only honored to serve in a leadership role in this distinguished 141 year-old banking organization, but delighted and pleased to have such a strong team working with me. Even more importantly, the employees we have at INSOUTH are among the best in the banking industry. I look forward to working even more closely with them as we continue to serve our customers and communities.” Clinton commented, “This new management team will ensure the future financial health and strength of the Bank, including meeting the standards targeted in regulatory agreements developed jointly by management, the Board of Directors and regulators from the Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. INSOUTH Bank continues to be adequately capitalized and we expect earnings performance in 2010 to reflect a substantial improvement over 2009 results. Going forward, we will continue to be deeply involved in the communities we serve and committed to finding ways to serve the banking needs of all of our customers by leveraging the energy and teamwork of our employees.” INSOUTH Bank names David Prince President If you are in need of some insurance with friendly smile and nice customer service, you may want to stop by the State Farm office operated by Lee S. Berry. Located on 1014 East Main, the business held a ribbon cutting recently, featuring the Brownsville/ Haywood County Chamber of Commerce, City Mayor Jo Matherne, and prominent residents of the community. Berry will be taking the place of Danny Murley of the State Farm office. Murley spoke highly of Barry, noting how he felt that State Farm had definitely chosen the right person to replace him. State Farm will offer life, auto, fire and health insurance. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 772-6600. Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there.
