True BloodTrue BloodTrue Blood’s intro has the names of cast and crew first before the name of the programme. There’s no placement of text so it’s not symbolic and just completely random. The text is small compared to the intro but stands out so the audience can focus on the images being shown as well as the text. There’s no text animation. This is inspiring for our project as it tells us to make our text stand out from the background if there’s moving images.

SkyfallSkyfallSkyfall’s order of credits shows the production company going first since they’re most important followed by Daniel Craig who is the star of the film then the Title.

The font is in Ariel and the title, crew and cast are all in capital letters, signifying importance. The text is in white so it’s easy to read. The placement of text is random and there’s no animation for it. The size of it is small compared to the images so the audience can focus on both.

This was inspirational for our project as it’s taught us to use white text so it’s easy to make it stand out.

DexterDexterThe placement of the text is random so it is not trying to tell the audience something important about the OTS through the placement of text. The OTS has used the Ariel font. The names of the cast and crew are bigger than the roles so the audience remember the names more over the roles.

The order of the credits shows that the name of the programme is shown first to tell the audience that the programme is focussed around someone called Dexter. The Title is a lot bigger and bolder than the other text used as it’s more important. It also has a moving blood animation whereas the other titles are just in capital letters and in the colour red.

The producers and executive producers are shown near the end of the OTS, after the actors have been credited, signifying they’re either more important and/or more famous than the producers so they should be entitled to have their names at the start of the OTS. It could also mean that by putting their names last, the audience would be more likely to remember their name over the names at the start of the OTS.

This has inspired out to use the colour red for our text in our OTS as it connotes blood and our OTS is focussed on madness + paranoia which will involve a lot of blood being used.

Se7enSe7enThe companies who supported and distributed are shown first in the OTS as they’re more important and the film wouldn’t have been successful without them. The main actors are shown in white with a black background so the audience know who’s in the film and who are the main actors.

It allows the audience to focus completely on their names. The placement of the text is completely random so there’s no subliminal message trying to be signified through text. The size of the text is random with each shot except for the shot involving the Title of the film which is purposely larger than the other text.

All of the text is in white so it stands out from the black background. The title is shown as in big, bold, white Ariel font so the audience know which film they’re watching and that it’s important since it’s bigger than other text. The side actors are shown after the title with things happening in the background, connoting that they aren’t as important as the credits shown before.
